OP, there's something called heaviness of the ball.

WTA uses lighter balls.

And despite that, Diego generates about 800 to 1000 rpms more on serve.

Good luck to Serena if he serves to an ATP pro. They are used to much much heavier serves.
Just asking a question, not arguing for Serena’s superiority...

Diego for sure, sir.
If Diego serves 100 times to Serena, she would be able to return it 50% of the time, mostly with weak replies. She couldn't deal with the spin, the weight of the shot or the disguised placement.

If Serena serves 100 times to Diego, he hits outright winners against most of her serves, though she also would hit a few aces. The question is predictably insane. People who start these threads need to attend tournaments and watch these players practice and play matches. No WTA serve will ever bother a male player and Diego is ranked 9 in the world, he would destroy any aspect of Serena's game while wearing an eye patch and leg cast.

shworts would be a bad matchup for her or really any WTA player due to his high topspin game which isn't something that's common in the women's game. The serve included.

You've absolutely pointed out the need to attend tournaments before posting these sort of topics, ma'am. I totally agree with you.
I've been to multiple tennis tournament, including slams, wtf, masters, 500s and 250s. I've watched both men and women play live, sometimes from seats very close to them. The disparity in athleticism, footwork, efficiency, point construction, ballstriking, spin rates etc. is exponentially bigger than what many TV-only viewers expect it to be.

Well said. Although Serana might have a better serve once in a game, Diego is by far more consistent and simply a better server

Why are we talking about how Serena would do against Diego?? She gets smoked by the heavies on her own tour right now.

These questions are also pretty silly though, the ATP and WTA are different competitions. You wouldn't compare the men's and women's cricket, for example, by heckling Elise Perry for not getting centuries every second test would you? It's a whole different thing and Diego's topspin is a good example. The men's game is simply played differently. The direct comparisons are predictable and tell us very little we didn't already know

well ATP can also use fraudulently lighter balls to allow certain players one last chance at tournaments like say, the French Open.
