You just look from a Nadal pov. 2015 had a wider variety on players in form at that event.

I voted for 2008 overall.
2008 RG had Nadal in GOAT form, Djokovic in very good form as well. Federer was obviously far from great during the tournament, and very bad in the final. However, I would probably still pick him to beat 2015 Murray. And anyway, 2008 Nadal probably destroys any better from 2015.

Yeah, good point.

A shame Tsonga has been so inconsistent in his career. But his 2 masters titles are both very impressive. Won against stiff competition both times.
Not that sure about Canada. Sure on paper the names are impressive but 2014 Murray was garbage, Novak was idgaf mood during the USO series and Fed was inconsistent during the USO series plus he had unfair scheduling that tournament iirc

Who beats who is a bit different to event by event. I agree about Nadal beating them all and then Federer 2008 besting Murray though.

That's fair. Still, beating all 3 of them will always look impressive rather than just beating 1 or even 2 of them in sub par form.

I think Berdych's Wimb 2010 win would still be praised even if he beat sub par Fedovic plus 2015 Nadal in the final.

Maybe? Obviously winners level is 2008 - runner up goes to Djokovic 2015 although 2008'Dal tears him a new one. Think Fed and Djokovic in 2008 beat Murray or Tsonga though.
I think 2008 Djokovic and 2015 Murray is close too Murray was good in RG 15. Think Monfils was the weakest SFist but not sure if that makes a big difference.

Murray was good, but Djokovic had no business playing a 5 setter against him. A similar case to Fed-Haas AO 2006.

A slam title is in a different league compared to a regular masters title.

At least the 5-setter wasn't a hindrance for Fed since he won the title.

Djokovic from the QF-first two sets of the SF was better than he was in 2008 but after that he dropped his level and never really found it again. I'm sure Murray makes it battle but I think 2008 Djokovic was a shade better than Murray - likewise Federer in 2008.

I'm not sure if it was necessarily a hindrance for Djokovic either. I think it was a bit more of a hindrance in 2020. Playing 4 hours at 33 didn't help his cause in the final.

Yeah maybe think that’s fair.

Which year was stronger? The tour and touch on individual opponents the number 1 faced.

Taking a break for pitting Fed fans against Djokovic fans for a bit.
2008 without a shadow of a doubt, sir.
With all due respect to nole, I do think that 2015 really lacked some strong young generation competition for the top dogs, unlike 2008.
