Bicep tendinitis from racquet with high static weight and more head balance

I recently developed bicipital tendinitis from the new Vcore Pro 310g racquet. I’m guessing my pain/discomfort and soreness came from the higher static weight and a more headlight balance than I’m used to (coming from the pure strike 16x19 w/o any pain). I have demoed the Tecnifibre ATP xtc 305 which is closer to my spec. Has anyone had a similar experience with the Vcore Pro line and is the xtc 305 a good option for a flat ball 4.5 player coming off a minor shoulder injury? Thanks in advance for your help!

I was playing with the Pro Kennex 7G for a while which has fairly significant swing weight and is extremely headlight. I tried playing around with balance by adding weight to the head but over time the front of my shoulder near the bicep area would get very sore after playing. I recently switched to the new Wilson Blade 98 16 x 19 v7 which is only slightly headlight and my pain in the front of my shoulder has subsided.

I also think that I was arming the ball on my forehand with PK 7G due to the very headlight balance which took its it toll on the front of my shoulder. The swing weight was probably a bit too high for me as well. Not sure if this is your problem but just food for thought.

I am used to around a 325 sw but I do think that the balance was more headlight than I was used to in the vcore Pro and was arming the ball. I am demoing the Tecnifibre xtc 305 which has a more comfortable balance for my preferences but I hope the 329 sw will be fine with my shoulder.

I would also be looking at the strings and tension you are playing with. Playing with poly can cause arm problems and I only use a synthetic string these days. I tried Yonex frames in the past and found them too stiff. The new Wilson Blade line is more arm friendly than most players racquets made today. The Blade is tip heavy and has a nice flex. Not sure about Technifibre frames but my search is over and my elbow and shoulder feel good these days. The key also is not to be arming the ball.

Have been using Hyper G 17g for years without issues and tried it at a range of tensions so I’m not sure that’s the issue. Perhaps the frame was string sensitive as well. The Tecnifibre has a 3pt hL balance and a 329 sw and so far seems to play well with Hyper G but hoping the 6pts higher sw than my previous Pure Strike 16x19 won’t be too much for my shoulder.
