Big 3 AO draws

Rafa has the easiest path to SF, that's for sure.

How is Federer's draw much tougher?

Let's do this [TTW-mode]
A declining Gasquet who is Fed's pigeon in the third?
A semi-injured Raonic, who has played how many matches the last six months?
A Delpo who's never done well at AO, The czech guy Grandpa schooled as bad as I've never seen 12 months ago? Or an overhyped Goffin whose scrawny body can't hope with BO5-matches in the quarters?
Then what? A German who just lost to a guy ranked 215 in the world? Or a guy with half an arm that just lost to a retired senior player in the semis???

Yeah, Fed's draw is so tough. LMAO.

Yeah I mean if Federer is in anything near his top form it will be routine all the way to the SF. Credit to Goffin for an amazing upset at the WTF but this isn't the WTF and Bo5 is a whole different kettle of fish. Now, if Djokovic makes it all the way to the SF, then that means he has to be playing very well because that Quarter is loaded. But I'd also like to see who Nadal would be playing in the SF assuming he'd make it to start actually comparing draw difficulty.

Without pointing out other problems with this post I will just say that within two sentences a vamosalaplayan brought up Nadal's age, but failed to do so with Federer's age, or rather ignored the effects of age.

The ridiculousness doesn't know boundaries with these folks.

Nadals body is probably equal to feds wear and tear wise even though he he just under 5 years younger than fred. Couple that with the fact that freds got one of the best serves ever and that neutralizes the age discrepancy even more. A great serve ages much better than any other part of tennis.

And the reason I brought up age was because I was asked why could Dimitrov beat Rafa now. He took him to 5 sets last year. Nadal is a year older, dimitrov is playing better tennis. How do you fed fans turn a question about Dimitrov Vs. Rafa into a fed discussion? LOL

And now let us see your comment for the draw in "normal"? mode.

8-)

How many matches has Nadal played in his career? Federer is at almost 1400, I believe. Nope, Nadal isn't close.

Don't get me wrong, I hope Djokovic of old will turn up here, but there's no way to say as of yet. Not fancying Nadal's chances too much, he's got a couple of rounds to play himself into form at least.

Um, I know you have to try to be "objective." But no way in hell is Nadal losing in the first week playing half his US open draw, plus Estrella and Jarry. Give me a break!

Never know with Rafa - we don't know quite how the knees will be....Same for Fed and Nole - just no idea what is happening with the 3 of them - nothing would surprise me genuinely....

Goffin was never better and Delpo is playing his best since his return. Both of them have wins against Fed last year, not small wins on some 250 tournament. How the hell Burgos even got to main draw, that is a miracle.

Gonna include Dimitrov and Zverev so they don't feel too left out...

Dimitrov-
R1: Qualifier
R2: Qualifier
R3: Rublev
R4: Kyrgios
QF: Pouille/Sock/Anderson
SF: Nadal
F: Djokovic/Federer

A. Zverev-
R1: Fabbiano
R2: Gojowczyk
R3: M. Zverev (Fratricide.)
R4: Djokovic
QF: Thiem
SF: Federer
F: Dimitrov/Nadal
Dimitrov's R3 and R4 are tougher than his QF! Also I highly doubt Rafa's knee will hold up until the SF so, if Dimitrov makes it past Rublev and Nick he's in the Final.

Djokovic -
R1: Young
R2: Monfils
R3: Ramos-Vinolas
R4: A. Zverev
QF: Thiem
SF: Federer
F: Dimitrov/Nadal

Federer-
R1: Bedene
R2: Struff
R3: Gasquet
R4: Raonic
QF: Goffin/JMDP/Berdych
SF: Djokovic/Zverev
F: Dimitrov/Nadal

Nadal -
R1: Estrella Burgos
R2: Mayer
R3: Dzumhur
R4: Isner
QF: Cilic
SF: Dimitrov
F: Djokovic/Zverev/Federer

Thoughts? Easy or hard? Predictions for each?
you would think that Monfils match with Novak is a tough one since Monfils just won a tournament is on hot streak. but Monfils for some really odd reasons, just Chokes against Novak or just Gives up if 1st set doesn't go his way.

Dimitrov was never better and let's wait to see how Delpo does at AO, a tournament he hasn't done well at historically. Kyrgios had a convincing win over Ralph last year, Dimitrov was inches away, and not small wins at some 250 tournament

:)

How many AOs did you say that Hewitt has?

And that in the " weak Federer era".

Ouch!

Who cares how many AO titles Hewitt has. what does that have to do with the price of rice in China?

Djokovic's form is unknown and he lost to retired Hewitt this week and his serve looks a bit suspect, while Dimitrov has been in good form lately so Dimitrov is obviously the tougher semi draw at this AO.

Do I have to point out that we are talking about SF opponents and not first round?

If Djokovic makes it that far he is playing well enough to take down anyone, in which case your speculations go out of the window.

Same question to you as to another poster: would you prefer Djokovic over Dimitrov, if Nadal has to play a SF against one of them in this tournament?

Rafa has a tougher semi draw right now with Dimitrov as his potential semi opponent instead of Djokovic because Dimitrov is more likely to get to the semis based on current form. So based on that Rafa would much prefer to have Djokovic in his semi draw instead of Dimitrov.

if Djokovic and Dimitrov both made the semi, then things would have to be reassesed and the tougher potential opponent would depend on how they each had been playing in the rounds leading up to the semi.
