Big Banger v Luxilon Monotec Supersense

What does Luxilon Monotec Supersense play/feel like? Is it like a softer version of the Big Banger line? It is supposed to be similar to natural gut -- but I've never hit w/ nat gut.
Also, does Luxilon recommend dropping the tension w/ Monotec (or only w/ BB)? I'm debating whether to string my racuet w/ the Supersense or to hybrid it w/ TIMO 17.
Thanks.

Which Big Banger? Anyway, the way I understand it, Luxilon has (at least) two lines of strings; the Big Banger line and the Monotec line, from which Supersense is from. Regardless of which Big Banger you're refering to, the Big Banger line of strings is, imo, all about power (in poly standards). I'm, not sure about the Monotec line, but, specifically Supersense, could have been engineered to be as soft as possible, without the extra power. Think of this analogy: Monotec Supersense could be to Big Banger Alu Power what Xcell is to Powergy. Of course, I'm just speculating. Furthermore, I may be wrong, but I get the feeling that Monotec Supersense is a popular string in Europe. I've read marketing ads where Luxilon calls it it's "flagship string" and, as you said, they have the nerves of comparing it to natural gut. Not sure what they're refering to, because no poly or co-poly is going to be similar to nat gut, period (although, maybe, a full nat gut job @ 80 would feel similar to a full Supersense job @ 50, lol). Finally, I once tried, very briefly, Supersense in a hybrid with Alu Power. Also, I once tried (even, more briefly) a full Alu Power string job. From what I recall, the full Alu Power job felt HORRIBLE. While, the Supersense/Alu Power hybrid wasn't so bad. Hope this helps.

Edit: Luxilon recomends to drop the tension with ALL their strings.

I 100% agree that full Luxilon jobs are horrible...at least in my experiences with BB original and BB ALU in a Yonex MP1, while a reasonably damp frame, felt completely dead with both of these strings. I have a sets of Supersense and TiMo which I plan to hybrid only (or trade away)

According to the "String Expert" <www.protennis.us/ExpertDetail.asp?id=23>:

"[Luxilon Monotec]Supersense uses a different formulation than the Big Banger range of strings and does have a different feel. It is primarily designed to have a softer, more 'gut-like' feel. Yes, you should use a lower tension - but the reduction should perhaps not be as great as with Big Banger strings - perhaps 5% rather than 10%. Jeff"
