Big Hitter Silver 7 Tour vs Solinco Confidential vs Kirschbaum Max Power

Hi guys. I tried S7T recently and absolutely loved it. I just want to weigh two more options before I commit to it - Confidential and Kirschbaum Max Power. What I am primarily looking for is price point and tension maintenance. I would love to hear your feedback if you have hit with all three strings. Thanks.

I use Max Power Rough and the tension maintenance is very good - well above average for a polyester. The feel is crisp as its a slighter deader poly which I like, similar to ALU when broken in.

Price is good also at just over £5 a set if you buy a reel.

Got BHS7T/Velocity now and will try Max Power/Velocity next.

BHS7T has really good tension maintenance and good spin. Velocity is not as slick as I thought it would be, but works to keep stringbed pretty comfortable.

I went with 53/56lbs but will go a little lower in the future, I expected Velocity to be more springy.

Head Gravity Pro with 338 SW.

Try one frame the other way around.. Velocity mains/Max Power crosses and compare. I found it players better than using Velocity in the crosses. Both strings are inexpensive enough to experiment.

It's all right. Great control and tension maintenance but little spin. It's a better string for flattish hitters. I would say it's the poor man's 4G.

I only hit with Confidential during the TW test of the string and in looking back, I would say that tension maintenance was good but not as good as Silver 7 Tour. Confidential also wore faster for me - I think I got about seven hours on it before it notched more than half way through, at which point it's right on the verge of breaking. Silver 7 Tour is good for at least 10 hours and more like around 12, so it's at least 50% more durable while maintaining good playability until about the last hour before breaking.

Silver 7 Tour does have a tendency to shear break the mains on mis-hits. Since I tend to swing pretty freely and mis-hit fairly frequently, I've experienced more than my share of these shear breaks. But I keep going back to it because it grabs the ball so well, has more than average pop, and just doesn't force me to change my game throughout that first 85-90% of its lifetime.

You nailed my thoughts on the BHS7T. I am at 12 hours with it now and it feels to me that I can still hit freely with it as I did on day 1.

Silver 7 Tour is among the more notch resistant strings that I've tried. Of round'ish shaped strings, it's probably the best that I can think of. Only a couple of really thick square strings, that being Ultra Cable and Cube, were more notch resistant. I cut out Cube after about six hours because the playing characteristics had changed fairly significantly but I played Ultra Cable to over 20 hours without it being anywhere near breaking. 17 gauge Silver 7 Tour is good for 10-12 hours, 1.20 Cyclone Tour is about eight hours, and the Hyper-G Soft in the most recent string test lasted me about seven hours.

thanks for your input, I might have misjudged Tour 7 for notching as I have used that for the past few months.
