BIG NEWS: The New Name Of The Wilson 2010 Racket Line!!!

The new Wilson line is so cool they're being made in Antarctica by penquins. Federer's racquet is the Ozone Player. It's a gas.

whaha my video's are deleted from youtube....

reason why:
Your video called "BLX ... New Wilson Racket Wilson Line From 2010 (3) (Roger Federer)" may contain content that is owned or licensed by the content owners:
• Content Owner: Wilson Sporting Goods Co.. / Wilson Racquet Sports Type: Audiovisual Content

Even if its unfortunate enough to be officially called Wilson BLX, we can colloquially refer to it here on the boards as Wilson X. :) Its not the end of the world. Besides I think the paintjob will look good

If they are seriously naming it this, it is very very funny for anyone from the UK!!!

lol like Wii was unfortunate for nintendo :L LOL! actually that would be an advatnge. "hey mate what racket do you use?" " i use 6.1 bollocks" :L

The OP is actually right.

Look at the 20X logo at the end. It morphs briefly into BLX.

BLX definitely looks like the name of the new Wilson line. I am an intellectual property attorney and avid tennis player and fan of the game. The substance of the text below was taken from the website of the United States Patent & Trademark Office. Looks like Wilson filed an "intent to use" application back on November 5, 2008 to register the word trademark "BLX" for use on racquets among other goods. These applications generally become public in a matter of days after they are filed. So it is possible someone could have discovered the new name of their upcoming line shortly after November 5, 2008. Although I guess there would be no reason to assume it was the name of a completely new line as it could have been for a "sub line" kind of like the FX are in the K-Factor line. The registration of the mark, however, is not complete as of yet. Wilson still has to commence actual use of the trademark in the United States before the mark can be officially registered. This is because trademark rights in the United States derive from use of a mark in commerce (e.g., sales of goods bearing the mark) and not by registration. The registration of a mark is meant to give notice to the world that the registrant claims rights in the mark and provides some additional evidentiary protections. But the actual trademark rights always flow from use. So I anticipate that soon after Wilson actually launches the BLX line, it will complete the registration of the mark by filing with the PTO what is called a "Statement of use."

Ima take a wild guess that this new Wilson technology is similar to the Core Shell nanoparticle resin used in the new Srixon tennis line.

Okay. I'm going to play the role of the impatient, ignorant consumer and respond to your organized, thouroughly researched and well-tailored post as such....

IN THE VOICE DAVID LETTERMAN USES TO PORTRAY A LOWBRED:
'So, uh.... BLX is the name?'

If you play the teaser clip www.wilson.com/next and see on your temp internet files the flv file used, the name of the file even has blx in it: blx_teaser2Approved.flv

Not to mention, it says blx in the actual teaser at the end

LOL... That looks exactly like a K90 repainted and it looks pretty bad haha, I wouldn't not touch that thing, I hope the 6.1 95's are better

i cant believe some people really thinks its BLX....
Yes, we do: :)

not liking it.. wilson have just gone the route of more is better with these last 2 paint jobs.. k-factors, now this one.. the simplicity of the n-codes was alot more appealing..

but then again, looking at it some more, i think it is better then the k-factor paint

Ugh, don't know if I like the asymmetrical paintjob. I'll reserve judgment until I can see it in person, but I'm definitely having trouble imagining Federer swinging that racquet.

Wilson k-vomit

This new paintjob makes me want to throw-up. Kind of looks like roadkill. I don't understand why they keep butchering this once venerable, clean and sleek racket. It all went downhill hill with the ncode line. Bring back the black, red, yellow and orange of the 6.1 classic. They called that the 6.1 classic for a reason!

Just my opinion... I could be wrong.:)

That is one bizarre looking tennis racquet!

Well... If all else fails you can always attend a rave concert with two of these :)

That paint job is kind of ugly IMO.

if only the red was black or vice versa. it would be so much nicer

^ I kind of like the paintjob.... Looks as if a peacock got ran through a mulcher.

From the general consensus of wislon's new aesthetics, it does not look promising.

I'll reserve harsher judgement until I view it in person.

BTW- The sarcasm in my quote does not translate well in written form.

The actual line isn't "blx" it's short for the actual name of the line...lol. They divided it up into three parts so it's easier for customers to pick a racquet out at least.

So the "BLX" logo on the commercial and the large "BLX" logo on the center of the racquet insert are... what? Jokes?

Why does the video show a different logo? Looks more like BOX. Also in the latest issue Tennis magazine with the Safin cover, on the split cover it shows the same logo as in the video.

Paintjob isn't very nice. Not as bad as I thought it would be. If the black goes the whole way around the top of the head it's okay (can't see in the picture) because it's more like black with a red accent on the throat than a dreaded asymmetric pj...I'm trying to convince myself that at least...
