Head to Head

Medvedev vs Alcaraz= 2-6
Medvedev vs Sinner= 7-8
Medvedev vs Rune= 2-1

Zverev vs Alcaraz= 6-5
Zverev vs Sinner= 4-3
Zverev vs Rune= 3-1

Tsitsipas vs Alcaraz= 0-6
Tsitsipas vs Sinner= 6-3
Tsitsipas vs Rune= 0-4

Total
Big Three Mid-Gen vs. Big Three Next-Gen = 30-37

As you can see Zverev is the only one leading every single h2h.

Medvedev started strong by taming Sinner and holding the pressure of Alcaraz, only to then lose 12 of the last 13 matches played with both, on the other hand he is currently still leading the head to head with Rune.

Tsitsipas instead if against Sinner he maintains a largely positive h2h (which at a certain point was 5-1) against the other two he has an embarrassing 0-10.

Zed, Med, and Stef were never "The Big 3", they were always "The Little 3".

We are talking about generations, and of their generation among those born in the second half of the 90s, Medvedev, Zverev and Tsitsipas are by far the best representatives, so they are a big three of the mid-generation.

No, Thiem is arguably also of their generation. And if not Thiem, at least Nick Kyrgios.

Thiem was born in 1992 and is part of an earlier generation.
Kyrgios was born in 1995, so he is part of their generation but he does not have a career remotely comparable to that of Medvedev, Tsitsipas and Zverev.
Among the players born in the second half of the 90s, so in addition to those 3, also Kyrgios, Ruud, Rublev, Fritz, Berrettini, Shapovalov, De Minaur, etc., those 3 are indisputably the 3 best exponents.

And that tells us all we need to know about the current abysmal state of tennis

There is more reason to include Kyrgios with Med/Zed/Tsitsipas than including Rune as part of the Sinneraz.

Terrible addition.
