Big titles players never won (or haven't won yet)

Every players has titles they struggle to convert on. Some of these players are still active, so they might close the gap.

Define "big title" as anything from Masters 1000 equivalent in points and higher ie M1000, Season end finals (atp, wct, ITF) and slams. These are singles events and also not including Olympics (less points than masters 1000)

Missing entries:
FEDERER - Rome (final 4 times), Monte Carlo (final 4 times)

DJOKOVIC - Cincinatti (been to the final 5 times)

NADAL - WTF (2 finals), Paris indoor (1 final), Miami (4 finals)

MURRAY - Australian Open (been to the final 5 times), French Open (been to the final once), Indian Wells (1 final), Monte Carlo (semi's 3 times)

SAMPRAS - French open (1 semi), Hamburg, Monte Carlo, Stockholm/Essen/Stuttgart, Canadian Open

AGASSI - Grand Slam Cup ITF season end final (1 final), Monte Carlo, Hamburg

BORG - Australian Open, US open (4 finals)

BECKER - French open (3 semi's), Miami, Monte Carlo (3 finals), Hamburg (1 final), Rome (1 final)

LENDL - Wimbledon (2 finals)

CONNORS - French Open (semi 4 times)

(For older players on MASTERS 1000 equivalent gaps are harder to isolate)

So comment? What interested me was Agassis record at Hamburg and Monte Carlo - given his game I thought he would have more success at those locations)

It would be amazing if Andy can reach MC final at least once. Then all four members of the big four will share something very special. They would have all played the final of every slam, masters event and WTF.:oops:

Big four forever! :)

Borg was payed like a million bucks to play a different racquet in USA from his normal Donnay. Maybe that cost him a USO or two?

Andre said several times (if not more) during his playing career that he hated playing in Monte Carlo because he felt the conditions were nothing like RG. Andre always said the balls and conditions were much heavier in MC and the clay was nothing like RG. That's why he skipped it many years, especially later on.

It’s also amazing at how many tournaments the Big 4 had all possible head-to-head matches against each other. At Grand Slams I think only Federer-Nadal at the US Open and Federer-Murray at Roland Garros are missing.

At Masters for example Djokovic-Murray took place everywhere while Federer-Djokovic has only Madrid missing and Djokovic-Nadal only Shanghai.

And by the way @ OP: Sampras has also never won the Canada Masters (1 final).

Murray has made 3 semis at Monte Carlo and each time was stopped by Nadal from progressing further. He's had the unfortunate bad luck of always being drawn in the same half as Nadal or he would almost certainly have made a final there by now.
