Bigger Momma's Boy: Murray or Young?

He sometimes shouts at his girlfriend and coaching team as well, not just his mother but at least he doesn't waste time smashing his rackets and screaming at umpires and linesmen and all and sundry like that 'real man Safin' liked to do!

Safin had an actual personality and he wasn't known as "Zero Man" at any point in his career.

Murray has yet to match Safin's achievements in tennis and considering his current Grand Slam win rate, he's in for a rough ride.

You like making things up, dontcha Wally. How's the off season going for you - have you figured out your early 2012 schedule yet - will you play Doha or Brisbane?

Okay maybe I don't want you at my matches, however I don't want to turn off a fan, so I've got a special gift just for you. Often after matches you've seen players throw towels, rackets, etc. into the stands, well I'm going to go one step further just for you. When I get back to the locker room, I'll take off my match underwear, sign them, and immediately put them in the post, still sweaty, just for you; now I have had this request before, but never actually given in, however for you I can't say no.

Oh I see, so you only develop a 'personality' when you've won a Grand Slam do you?

So it'll be okay for Murray to shout at his entourage or throw rackets about like Safin only so long as he wins a slam?

The parents of Federer, Nadal and Djokovic are nearly always present for their sons' big matches. Why does Murray always get singled out as if he were somehow the exception among top players in having his mother present to support him?

Stupid thread!

Very stupid thread. Reeks of sexism, I'd say.

Murray is a softcock like most of the players these days. Safin was the last of the real male tennis players. Never forget that time he turned up to the AUS Open with 3 to 4 major pieces of meat in his entourage, legendary stuff. Murray on the other hand, brings his mum along and constantly screams and shouts at her like a kid, pathetic.

I'm afraid what is pathetic is that post. And it supports what I said above...

So true and the most disrespected. The amount of crap talked about these two far exceeds any nonsense talked about any other male tennis player on this forum! I've discovered its virtually a full-time job on here to try to defend them against the sheer ignorance and venom displayed by so many posters on here. They certainly seem to attract more than their fair share of out-and-out trolls than anyone else!

It is, but it's not worth it, really.

Safin had character as did most of the players of the past. Think Ivanisevic, Becker, Agassi. People loved them regardless of their antics. These days the players have zero character/personality. Murray is the greatest example, he has the personality of a house brick.

Lol, do you know any of those players personally to be talking like that?.

And anyway, what is it that you consider having personality?. Enlighten us please.

That is what some people here seem to consider as "having a personality".

For someone as intelligent as yourself, an obvious genuine talent at scrutinizing multiple posts, I am surprised you don't know the meaning of personality. A dictionary can help or will you question the definitions in the dictionary as well ??

I don't need a dictionary to tell me if someone has a personality. You might want to consider following your own advice though.
