Thiem to win USO is by far the best choice. In fact, it has already occurred.

I feel like this thread should be title biggest impossibility, because honestly, I would be surprised if Medvedev even wins a single match at RG...

Medvedev: "RG title? Are you kidding me? I just want to win a match!"

Only makes it more embarassing that Tim is so bad on the lawn. How slow do they need to make it for him to compete?
I'm sorry but Wimbledon has not slowed much if at all in the last 15 years *shrug*. There are still clear differences between the surfaces and I think they are well balanced. Fast courts in the 90s were bad then and would be straight cancerous now.

Thiem can go toe to toe against Berdych, a good grass courter, at Wimbledon; Medvedev can not save his ass against Fucsovics at RG.
:sneaky:

On balance I voted for Thiem given that Medvedev has yet to win a match at RG.

Guess this would be appropriate for Medvedev:

Thiem has won a grass court title (Stuttgart) including beating Federer in the semis. Only 3 players have won Wimbledon in the last decade and one of them has a metal hip while another is almost 40 years old. If Djokovic gets upset in a future Wimbledon, someone with a good all-around game like Thiem could sneak a title - especially as he has learned to use his BH slice well and has a big serve.

Medvedev has not won a single match at the French Open in his career and was upset again in the first round. His flat strokes are the opposite of the heavy spin that most clay court champions use to win on clay. Plus, Medvedev is 0-6 in five-setters and I don’t see him getting through a French Open tournament without playing some five-setters. So, I think the chance of him winning a French Open title is more remote than Thiem winning Wimbledon.
