A few i got in mind:

- Paul Henri Matthieu choking to Youzhny in Davis cup final (i think it was 2002)
- Todd Martin - Malivai Washington semi final Wimbledon
- Almargo - Ferrer AO 2013: my personal favourite, biggest choke ever i believe
- Coria - Gaudio

Please add more to the list :D

Hey thanks for carrying the torch.

That wasn't a choke.

As a RFederer fan myself, I admit that it was a choke (maybe not the greatest of chokes. but still) and the fact that it could've stopped the unstoppable 2011 NDjokovic twice in a major in that year makes it very significant.

Almagro-Ferrer of this year's AO has to be probably the biggest of all time. Maybe the 2004 FO final can compare.

Come on give Djokovic some credit, he won that match more than Fed lost it.

I didn't mean to diminish NDjokovic at all. 2 Match points for the then 16 slam champion on his own serve, sorry, but I don't see it anything other than choking although I must agree that FH to save the first MP is one of the greatest shots played under pressure.

Almagro vs Ferrer AO 2013
Gaudio vs Coria RG 2004
McEnroe vs Lendl RG 1984
Gasquet vs Murray Wimbledon

and in the WTA Sabatini and Novotna vs Graf

It was a diaster to lose, for me a choke is a player playing terrible, Nole was amazing.

Coria vs Gaudio continues to be mentioned as a choke. Coria was cramping to the point he could barely walk and yet he gave it everything he had and nearly won. Choke? Not a chance. Just the opposite.

2010 USO Federer v. Djokovic semi -- Roger had match points. Plural.

Even though I got to see Rafa win his golden career slam in person because after Roger lost I could afford a ticket for a decent seat at the final where I could actually see and if he had won there's probably no way that could have happened, I'm still mad about that.

Also, every Safin Wimbledon QF ever.

Even though one of them led to the GMOAT -- he was Roger's QF opponent in 2008 -- Roger didn't have to play his best to beat him. And Marat had what it took to beat him ... he just played like he didn't really feel like beating Roger that day.

*sigh*

RFederer against NDjokovic in 2011 USO SF :(

Pure logic here. Federer "choked" because he couldn't dash at super-speed to get to Djokovic's forehand return-winner in time.

I mean are you kidding? How is that a choke, what could Federer possibly have done against a shot like that?

Federer 2011 USO vs. Nole. MAJOR choke age there IMO. Probably the biggest one of the modern era

How Federer didn't win that match in the 5th set is beyond me. Didn't he have match points for 2 years in a row vs. Nole at Flushing?

Yep, he had a match point in their 2010 semi and two match points in their 2011 semi!

Two other ones that have stuck in my memory are:

Federer v Tsonga quarter-final at 2009 Montreal:

Federer lost the 1st set on a tie-break but won the 2nd, 6-1 and was 5-1 up and serving for the match in the 3rd! Tsonga reeled off the next 5 games, took it to a tie-break and won!

Verdasco v Soderling 2nd round at 2011 Rome:

Verdasco won the 1st set, 6-2 and was 5-4 up in the 2nd and serving for the match at 40-0 up on serve! Soderling eventually took that set 7-5 and the 3rd, 6-4.
