Nadal's rituals are purely about mental focus, in my opinion. He focuses on these rituals to keep himself in the present, and to stop himself thinking too much about any negative things that have just happened, or could happen, in a match.

If it is about mental focus, the least he can do is umm....keep it socially acceptable ? Like he can do a macarena before the serve and people wouldn't have a problem with it but tugging at the front and back of his shorts FFS ?

hope he doesn't 'mentally focus' too hard when choosing his menu, when xisca takes him out to the restaurant... [IMG]

You call Nadal's injury time out, imaginary, yet you coo over everyone else's:

"so besides the nadal's "comeback" (after his imag'injury),.............."

No, I'm not on the Delpo bandwagon.

    Here is hoping. :)

Nothing beats the comeback from AA though. Took him a while but nobody sank so low.

Agassi 99 has to be it
Nadal 2013 is pretty close too (2017 wasn't quite as impressive, mainly because he still can't even beat Federer)
    Connors 91 honorable mention

Federer didn't come back as strong as Nadal in 2013, but given his age it was more remarkable.

Nadal also did not win a slam in his first official tournament back.

Very true. That run to the title in Australia left an indelible mark on tennis history. Eerily similar to Sampras's US02 title run.

Because his first official tournament in 2013 was Vina Del Mar. Rafa did win his first slam played in 2013.
