Post Modern > Modern > Traditional

Modern strokes neutralized traditional style through baseline top spin grinding of the traditional rally ball and hitting easy passing shots against serve and volley aggression of traditional strokes. Since traditional strokes were RHS limited due to the heavy racquets they were not capable of a lot of velocity or spin. Modern strokes on the other hand generated a lot of RHS which was used in a wind shield wiper finish to generate a very spinny rally ball or a flattened out high velocity passing shot.

Post modern neutralizes modern by providing an effective kill shot against both traditional and modern rally balls. It accomplishes this by generating even more RHS than modern. So it effectively allows passing shots to be hit not only against a traditional player at the net, but also a modern player at the baseline. It does not allow a modern player to grind or a traditional player to attack the net.

A post post modern stoke would have to neutralize post modern, modern and traditional rally balls as well as well as winner generating strategies employed by these styles of play. One option that I see is a stroke that is able to hit very offensive dinks and drop shots against the hardest post modern, modern and traditional strokes that falls on the open court and does not bounce much at all or touches an opponents racquet and dies on it. This allows post-post-modern to neutralize the post modern kill shot, the modern grind and the traditional net rush as well as providing a winner generating option against the post-modern, modern and traditional rally balls.

I was about to throw in the towel and admit defeat. But the mods deleted thread. Saving me from forum disgrace.

PoMo has too much forum stamina.

So the low driven slice or short angle slice is traditional and post-post PoMo at the SAME time!

Time warp! The space time continuum has been broken by PoMo hands!!!!!!! The implications for humanity. I am awe struck.

It is easy to jump on here and post a snide remark and go about my day. PoMo is posting whole dissertations about this. Serious commitment.

PoMo probably complained and had it deleted. Destroy the evidence so he can better spew nonsense without video of himself flailing about the court.

That thread was epic entertainment though. I think bssh was serious at first but by the end was in on the joke (I hope). Either way it was much better than Fed v Nadal arguments.

I love how much of an attention ***** this guy is.
His thread gets deleted, so he just decides to create another one about a random topic that makes no sense whatsoever. And on top of that, he had to show all of his narcissism by creating the thread with his name on it like he's some sort of tennis expert that has played the game for years and knows everything there is to know about tennis.
Srsly dude, you need to start looking for some medical help before this gets out of hand... (if it isn't already...)

Thats where it jumped the shark.

Very offensive dinks- really? Balls that just die on the stringbed? Wasnt POMO unassailable?? Now its not??

Generational breakthroughs occur when a lot of disparate factors that make the breakthrough possible, occur close together.

Modern style is a product of stiff racquets and poly strings in combination with bio-mechanical advances to safely generate a lot of RHS.

Post-modern is a result of a better understanding of string bed ball collisions combined newer generation of powerful yet spinny poly strings along with even more bio-mechanical advances pertaining to increasing RHS.

Post-post modern will need something similar to happen. Maybe some newer generation of materials that are selectively extremely stiff in one dimension and extremely flexible in another, string beds that have patterns etched in them like rifle and tank guns …. There will also need to be a lot of bio-mechanical advances as well. Something like Bruce Lee’s one and six inch punches. We are not there yet. It is not clear if all the factors are in place yet for Post-post modern.

Human progress goes on. We are all but grains in the sands of time!

We are not dealing with a closed system like rock-paper-scissors.

The traditional drive slice is not effective against a skilled modern or a skilled post modern. They will have enough legs and RHS to put it away for a winner.

A post-post modern dink is another beast altogether!

Incredibly clever. Post-pomo. I see what he's doing. He's spreading the proverbial disease and hoping he'll be the only one with a cure. = $$$.

P.S. my hypothetical uncle recently became my aunt. Anyone wanna guess what his/her new occupation is?

I am a bit bored with tennis right now. Especially after the reception I got and because my thread was deleted.

I am pursuing something else that is more interesting right now. Check back in a few months.

    HAHAHHAHAHA.
OP goes on about how he plays anyone that's willing to play with him.
Someone says they are willing to play with OP, OP backs out.

You sir, just made my day. Your reply to his match request says everything about you and your personality issues.
You can close this thread now!
