Black code 4s low COF

Was searching for a smooth poly string good playability duration and low COF to hybrid with Hyper G 16L on my Blade 18x20. I tested Wilson Revolve 17 as a cross and although it gives amazing pocketing and thus spin with HG 16L on mains I am kinda afraid to hit fast because sometimes it sprays. So after searching I found BC4s to have it all , same COF as revolve and much better tension maintenance but it is Shaped~! Does a Poly-Shaped/Poly-Shaped hybrid works? What's your thoughts? Does it make sense to test HG16L mains / BC4s crosses? Thanks

I mean, in terms of Poly-Shaped/Poly-Shape, it wouldn't be significantly different compared to a full bed of Poly-Shaped, no?

Depending on the difference in softness etc. you might see more wear on one etc. which may affect its durability.

But there's no right or wrong with regards to string setups as long as it works for you, and you're happy with whatever downsides come with it.

With regards to your original Hyper-G revolve, have you tried changing tensions/going up in gauge to try and counter?

Yes it will actually be the same to a full bed shaped but I would gain the snapback from the BC4s that HG lacks completely! I am already at 53 Lbs on an 18x20 pattern , maybe I could prestretch the Revolve since it loses tension massively?

Well,

I have a reel of 4S 1.25 (not called Black Code any more) as my cross specialty poly, plus it's a good poly in its own right for mains, too.

to me it does nt make sense? if blackcode s is a better string why not use it fullbed?

Hyper-G and 4S is a little tricky, because Hyper-G is pentagonal and 4S is square-shaped. This means that geometrically they won't have the best of compatibility and the friction will be higher than expected. Feel free to give it a try though

As others here have mentioned, you should also try 4S on its own, it'll definitely go better friction-wise with itself than with HG

Yes , nice response. Thank you!

Try some of the strings that were mentioned in your previous thread. They are much better better options than 4S and revolve.
