Black Code vs. Big Hitter Black 7

I use a Prince EXO3 Black and I'm an all court player who likes to mix my shots up. Do you recommend Tecnifibre Black Code or Tourna Big Hitter Black 7.

Hey up and comer..what do you think about big hitter black vs b5e? Im looking for Durability, control and spin and hybrid with nvy. Ideal tension is 53/57 for the setup.

Durability- B5E
Control- B5E
Spin- BHB7

I'd suggest trying both, but B5E is more of a control string while BHB7 is more of a higher power, high spin, springy kind of string.

Depends what you like.

Sounds like b5e for me. I have a full bed of rip control at 59#s that i really like now (besides the string movement) and want to improve upon that setup.

I played Black Code a few times. Price/Pefrormance goes to Tourna BHB7. The cost of Black Code is a no go for me. On top of that, I can't think of any feature of Black Code that is better than the BHB7. Maybe a better package.. that you are paying for. In general, TF strings are way overpriced for the limited wow factor. X-1 is prime example, great string for 4 or less hours $17.00 a set??? I do not think so..

From what I can remember, you like Silverstring. If that's the case, B5E would be a better fit, since its almost like a grabbier version of Silversting.

You might also want to try BHB7 16 regardless though. Not sure if its going to have too much beans for your open 6.1 but it is a very good string and you certainly wouldn't need to cross it with anything (unless of course, you're trying to maintain the feel/touch of the synthetic gut).

Yeah, I agree. BlackCode -v- BHB7 isn't even a contest in my view.

If the Control and Durablity of B5E is better than the BHB7... I have to demo that very soon. I got over 12 hours of outstanding play out of the BHB7 17G. Tension holding was the best I have ever seen in a poly. I could not miss the court with the BHB7. A B5E demo is in my near future.

^ B5E v BHB7 is racquet and player dependent in my view. They do similar things but they're on opposite ends of the springiness/power spectrum. Whilst I appreciate the qualities of B5E - control, low power, spin - it doesn't suit my 18x20 pattern stick, I don't like the feel of it, and my arm was on fire after 3 hours of hitting due to its stiffness.

Yikes...no arm pain with the BHB7. I guess comfort is a key factor also..

Bc felt great as cross with vs team gut. It's great for 18 x 20 flat hitters. Bhb7 has great pop if crossed with bhbr as cross. Try that combo. B5e will hurt you more. Esp. if strung higher.

I have used bhbr as mains, and bhb7 as mains, and bhb7 as main with bhbr as crosses. Bhb7 has more control when used as main, with good spin. Bhbr as main has a different feel than as cross, not as stable, more incosistent, not as good on slices and control. I don't know if that answers the question, as the spin with bhb7 as main feels tighter, more under control, and still has power from the cross.

If you were to do a BHB7 (mains) and BHBR (Crosses) Hybrid, what gauge strings would you use and tensions of each string? BTW.. what frame are you using?

Thanks Kite!!!!

Blackcode 15L

Not sure if you're into thicker gauge strings but I really like the Blackcode 15L personally in my exo3 Black. Mine is weighted up a few grams and I find the 15L gauge gives me a good balance of control, power, and spin...Not mushy like other 15L's. I've tried many other 16-15L gauge strings and this one has taken the cake for me. Also, I believe since it is 1.32 gauge I get a little more tension stability/play-ability over the life of the string as compared to say the 1.28 16 gauge version.
