BlackCode 18 VS RPM Blast 17 - anyone compared the two ?

Just currently testing RPM Blast 17 mains and X-One 17 crosses in 2 of my PD ANNIVERSARY Babolat racquets and this hybrid plays nice, but I tested BlackCode 18 2-3 week ago in a full poly in 2 BLX 95 18X20 in A hybrid with BlackCode 18 mains and Silverstring 1.20 crosses and even though it was 2 different hybrid setups in 2 different racquets, the RPM Blast reminds me a bit of how BlackCode played and felt - soft, muted and medium good tension stability - 6-8 hours or so....

Anyone else thought about the similarities/differences between BlackCode gauge and RPM Blast ?

I don't quite understand all the hype surrounding RPM Blast at the moment - it's a nice softish poly, but not that spin crazy and not that powerfull. The first RPM Blast I tried was in 16 gauge and that seemed more stiff of course, the RPM Blast 17 gauge reminds me a good deal of the soft muted feeling BlackC, which some calls a crappy plastic string (Drakulie among others.....)

^

Well.. I guess its a love and hate with the Black Code..

How does BC compare with strings like TB and Genesis Typhoon?

Compared gray 1.25mm typhoon with 17g black code, the typhoon was much more powerfull, softer, more comfortable. But I got more spin with black code.

Typhoon seems to be lasting longer.

^ So do you prefer Typhoon or BC?

I am deciding on what may be my next string. I don't want to try 3 strings at a time, I rather do 2.

Typhoon, BC , and the Tour Bite are my finalists.

TW academy just put in more Information on RPM spin, in the RPM blast thoughts thread .....check it out:)

^ I saw that.. Still not convinced that RPM will help me. I didn't enjoy it at all.

I am now looking at other polys like Solinco and Genesis.

Eh.. don't like 18G anyways. Always been a 16 G PHT user...

Guess I'll just try the 3 strings I mentioned earlier.

"Rpm blast has good pop with 360g h22, good spin. The guy I was hitting with today said, "You got some lefty spin on your forehand." I strung it 1/2 hr. before hitting. He said, "Anything to your forehand is gone on my serve." I was hitting fh dtl returns for winners. Also bh dtl. Inconsistent due to my own shots, not the string. Felt soft and good spin if going for spin. Good power if going for power. Better than red code. More spin if not more power.
