There are no SpeedPort holes in Monfils Wilson H19.I think Monfils is still playing with the Rebel 95 thats just painted to look like a Wilson Blade. At the aussie open I could see the speedport holes.
That's not true! Show me the Portholes.... Monfils is really using a Wilson racquet.^pretty sure I heard Monfils is currently playing a Wilson painted racquet with prince o port holes. This is a pretty blatant example but short answer is yes absolutely. This is one reason I hold Sampras in such high regards, they tried to throw money at him and he stuck with his racquet (not for any ideological reasons mind you but I still like that he was partial and you could see to what)

Pardon me just something I read on here somewhere. Point stands, yes companies pj other companies frames for players. As for Monfils, it's probably just the light but isn't the blade a matte finish, that looks kind of glossy. What's he hitting with vsbabolat? H-something or other or is that a new blade?Totally false!!!!!!!! Watched him hit yesterday and again this morning and he is using the Wilson........
Hi Ross,ProStringing ^
Thanks for great pics and names.
Er, I'm curious - don't suppose you happen to know what strings Phau (confess I don't know the player) has in there?
Regardless of what Monfils is using, does this happen where a guy gets a Wilson PJ on a Head racquet? Or whatever companies you want to fill in the blanks with? Just curious.
I have seen this before; here are a couple of pictures (not my own) that are of a Head PT57A with a Wilson Blade paint scheme:It's not unheard of.
Thanks. Just curious. So he did def bump up his head size 3 in though from the rebel.Tell you what.......gonna be on onsite today and tomorrow and if I get a chance I will see what he is playing with......all theses claims he is using a prestige (he's not) or still a Rebel or a H19.......try to find out this week.
I don't know which I find more priceless - the fact that you spoke with Monfils in person and asked him about his frame, or the fact he answered he didn't know!Well LaMonf told me when I asked if he knew what he was playing with he said he didn't know. It's an H19 from what can tell.....he said he just tells Wilson what he is looking for and they send him sticks tweaked. Then Off to P1 for final set up.
I will check out the stringing room tomorrow ( buddy of mine stringing again this week).
Yes, how special is that eh? Now gavna, ask ask him again, GRILL him on what frame he's really using!Met him a few times and trade emails........met him on vacation and he has been very cool with our youngest son.....now that he is in Houston and my son a ballkid this week he hit with my kid since Thursday. Very very cool......
gavna, what's the lowdown then? Hope you weren't caught red-handed as it were taking quick pics and rummaging through his bag! This TT Special Ops work is dangerous business!Actually leaving in 10 min to head out there....loooong day with 16 quali matches on the 4 courts -
Gonna grab his sticks out of his bag and take close up pics (not).
Thanks for the confirmation. Superb 'Special Ops' work there my friend. He's using the H22 - pro stock of the 98.....leather grip with tourna grip.
Sticks were all 4 1/2 I saw.
