Blade 98S (18x16) string breakage

Ace of Aces

Semi-Pro
I played with the Steam 99s for a couple months a while ago but moved away from it because
I was breaking 15l poly in a 2-3 hours of hitting. Recently hit with a Blade 18x16 (the 2015 one) and really liked it but I'm concerned about the strings. To those who have used both, did the blade get significantly more string life than the steam?

I’d break ALU power in about 2 hours in the Blade and 45 minutes in the steam. I played with the steam for only a session or two because of the string breakage issues. The blade did better with ripspin/revolve 15 (1.35) and I played this for several years.

I also use an open string pattern racquet the strings break easier but they also play more flexible and put less strain on your arm. Since I started using string savers the strings last much longer so it is no longer an issue The string savers are inexpensive
