blade pro specs

when you order the blade pro from wilson, what are the odds multiple racquets come with similar specs or close to matching?

ive always read about how the blade pro is a great version of the (already) great v8. i wanted to try it, but if you’re a racquethead like myself the wilson qc and usual varying specs would drive me nuts. is this experiment worth it or just stick with my stash of modified and matched v8’s?

I loved the roll of the dice feeling of getting 6 blade pros in from Wilson and starting all the measurements.

If you are looking for two that are matched, you should be ok ordering 6 and ending up with two that are very close. That isn’t guaranteed but that gives you much better odds than ordering 4.

The shipping and return policy is a breeze which makes the whole process pretty painless.

Make sure you can measure swing weight. I’d get BPs that were pretty close in static but 10+ pts off on SW.

You can also search the Blade Pro thread and Racquetholic thread. Many posters posted the specs of the Blade Pros they received. So that will give you an idea of the variance.

Yes. No matter how the v8s are modified they are totally different than the b pros which are h22 based.
btw Many people modified speed to djokovic spec not knowing they are two completely different mold.

Its probably a lose lose honestly... it does not play or feel like a Blade at all.

Buy one (buy the lowest spec you can find) for the looks and feel and keep it for the looks and feel. Just dont buy multiple racquets on the immediate result of the first hitting session.

After a month if you are absolutely absolutely absolutely sure then dump your V8s and go for these.

Based on track record - most people dump the BPs - greatest racket ever is first response and then one month later its not.

I’ve been playing BPs since November and can’t put it down. Massive boom, but still soft and clean feel. The beam is 22 mm, so not a super clunky thick beam frame.
Yes, you need to order a stack and find your spec, but you can return the ones you don’t want for a full refund.

Gonna echo what everybody else here said. It's a completely different racquet than the regular v8. I love them. They feel like the racquets I grew up with - Liquidmetal Radicals and some others. High swingweight, smaller sweetspot, and near-even balance make them difficult to use if you're not somebody who hits the ball cleanly at a high level. They feel a little chunky compared to regular blades at the same specs for me too. I dumped mine because I don't get enough reps and play better with other frames. If I were playing 3-4x a week every week, I'd have kept them...but I'm not. Still have one in the bag for fun because it's just so enjoyable.

If you enjoy your matched and modded v8s, just keep them tbh. Why search for something "better" when really all you're getting is different? My two cents, though.

FYI - There are V8 Blade Pros. V8 doesn’t mean the regular Blade or the Blade Pro. I’m pretty sure the OP knows the difference between the regular Blade and the Blade Pro, even though he says V8 for the regular Blade.

I agree, as I've switched to Shift 300, b/c of 325 SW is easier to yeld vs the BP's 335 SW and it has almost the same power, plus top spin.

V8 blade pro is the same as the v7 blade pro. No direct connect or any new tech in the v8. Still just 100% graphite. It has the big trapdoor buttcap, but that’s it.

Swingweights seem to be coming in lower though which may attribute to why some folks find the v8 to feel different. I had both in matched specs, and they all felt the same.

this is interesting, hows the shift on stiffness/feel? decent enough flex for a hard hitter with fear of repeating an elbow injury?

appreciate the thoughts gang, really helpful. im never quite sure how these questions will be received lol….ill get one to test it and see if i get past the honeymoon phase, but if the modded v8s work then i think its time to call off the search…but if you’re as crazy as me its still fun to test some frames for a few minutes (or collect)….is there any old frame similar to the bp or cozy flexing v8? for some reason im wanting to take the ncode six one 16x18 out for a test drive

Some people complain, like @Newby who is 5.0-5.5.
Lowly me I also hit hard for my level and can't complain (also Mayami polies are soft, especially Big Spin).
