Got 3 Blade 98 Noir's in. All close(ish), but not matching with my existing Blades.. :/ Might settle with the first one, or just order more. The paint looks great, love the gloss fade to satin around the hoop. Really fine.

Have you removed the plastic wrap of the grip ?

I have not. At most adds a 1-1.5 grams if that, but wouldn’t really effect the SW.

I believe it adds around 2,5gr

I´ll take a ride here as well....these discussions if the V8 Noir is somewhat stiffer to V8 and how does it compare to the latest V9 is getting more and more interesting. And confusing too.

It’s an awesome frame. But being a Wilson, you will likely need to customize. I have 3g in the hoop of one, and 10g of putty in the handle of another. I love them both though!

To me, it has the stiffness of the v9 but maintains the feel of the V8.
and no orange or highlighter green. The gloss black in the hoop of the noir! Omg.

I never had my Noir’s tested for stiffness, but they play different than the stock V8. Stiffer and a different flex. I don’t know what Wilson did, but it is not the same frame just in a black version. That is a good in my opinion. I am very happy with them and they play great at 335SW.
I haven’t hit the V9 for more than 5 minutes so I can’t really compare, but I have heard they are not really the V9 either (but closer than to the V8).

They are uniquely awesome frames. Almost like Wilson’s Regna!
Weird story about the Blade Noir. Perhaps Wilson had a lot of CF rolls for v9, and used it to make v8 Noirs, so it ended up being a weird blend, who knows.. So many brands, including Wilson, have made a +1 cosmetic version of their racquets, this is the 1st I hear is that different
