For those interested i made the right questions (cause i am a loyal blader) to the Italian reviewer and here is what he answered. Very interested info…. i believe lower SW will change everything
Grande Fabio amazing reviews as always. The only time i totally disagreed with you was on VCore98 latest review. It’s one of the most solid racquets out there but Yonex has to produce a connected racquet since DR…. I was totally disconnected with VC98….. no feel at all. I couldn’t even stay on rallies……
Let’s get to the BLADE now. I am a blader for life. Still rocking my Blade V5 2015 98S with 4G. So my main question to you is:
1) After the low powered and difficult to swing V7 has the instant free power of Blades like V3/V4/V5/V6 returned ????
2) Can you compare V8s feel to V5 ? V5 was plush but not so plush like V7 and it has direct power….. even free power to defend and return balls under pressure. Is the feel sth new in blades line ? Can we finally crush balls again without being heavy lifters ??? And does it have still a little bit of plushness…. I want the ball to still lag a little bit on the strings not 100% direct and harsh like pro staffs if you know what i mean.
3) Some users have also reported great slice and kick free juice on serves too.
4)I hope the launch angle of 16×19 to be greater than V7s which played like 18×20.
5)Did you felt and pain on the wrist/elbow ?
6)I know from your reviews that you like 4G soft but still 4G has better connected feel
7)Is the 16×19 more solid than V7 so not to bother to try the new 18×20 ? I had more stability on the head of V7 18×20 compared to 16×19.

Hi man, you’re right, because the feel is only thing that maybe not fits the same way for everyone. So, even if i’m good at describing it, someone could find it different.
Let’s give you answers point by point:
1) Yes, it’s definitely a come back, even if the stick is a littler faster through the air.
2) Yes, Blade 98 is something more related to v3 and v5, just a little plush, not at all, but that crisp feel is something that blade has ever had.
3) Me too, but the slower you move it, the most you feel the ball going quickly away, so swing it a little more to maintain the right control on the ball.
4) The launch angle is absolutely higher, even in 18×20 v8 version.
5) No, definitely no! I watched some video on youtube talking about that, but i have different idea and we talk about a 65 ra, not a 69. If many people like softer sticks it doesn’t mean that a crisper one should be a bad choice for the arm. Don’t string it over 23 kg with a stiff mono, because it makes no sense.. it’s the only way to feel the new blade bad. Has been 3 years that Wilson is enjoying lower tension on his sticks, maybe good to listen to the advice and string it properly.
6) For Blade V8 16×19, i prefer 4G at 21/21 kg. 4G soft maybe more useful if you don’t like the feel at lower tension, and you can string it at 23/22 or 22/22 without going on a too stiff way.
7) v8 18×20 review is dropping on septembr the 8th, but later on, today, i will post a flash review (in Italian) on my Youtube channel. I do not really like video-reviews because they can change the sense depending on the feel of the day, but there i a lot of lazy people that don’t want to read at all .. and i try to reach them too. Even fot the 18×20 version, the sw is lower than usual.. and, even if the ra is the same, they play a lot different. Be patient, I’ll explain it better in the review.
