Blisters from leather grip

Hi, i have been using leather grip for quite some time now and i relly love the feel it gives. However, my plam started to have blisters and it is quite painful to hold the racquet now. Thus I wanna ask should i put an additional overgrip or to continue using until the blisters become hard? I am afraid that putting an overgrip will lose it's "feel"

Id just tough it out because when i got blisters, i kept playing and even though it opened up and bled a few times, it healed over with harder skin. But you really wont notice a great difference in "feel" if you get a thin overgrip,

I use leather + tournagrip. The tourna is nice and thin, so the bevels are still very prominent to feel.

I have done the same thing; however, I still got blisters. For me, blisters were the price of admission to the land of leather.

Overgrip will help, but not completely eliminate the problem, especially when one has wrong grip size.

I agree. I had blisters with a small grip, because the bevels made pression on the falanges directly.
With a bigger size, falanges touch the flat sides of the grip, not the bevels, so they don't receive an improper rubbing/pression during play and blisters don't come out

i personally use an overgrip over leather, and would recommend it. there is still enough feel, and it gives a little added comfort. not to mention you will probably get a better grip on the racquet with a good overgrip that is tacky and/or absorbs sweat. keep playing enough and you will eventually build up rough skin to protect your hands.

Phalanges are finger bones, if anyone's confused... something lost in translation

I used to get very small blisters, but they have now healed. The use of an over-grip really does help, and depending on which over-grip you use, you can fine tune how much comfort you want since they vary in thickness. IMO Yonex Supergrap is pretty thick, and helps soften the feel of leather.

I just switched over to a leather grip as well. I love the feel you get from it, but the blisters came quick. I've been using a pumis bar on the blisters. I just use it while i'm in the shower (so the blisters are good and soft), and it works pretty well to keep the blisters from getting too bad.
