Blx prostaff 6.1 90 or Aeropro drive cortex?

You really can't compare these two frames since every aspect whether it be head size or swing weight is completely different. Which one is better is subjective and something only you can judge.

Demo and decide for yourself which stick suit your game better. Both of them are too different for us to make a suggestion.

Or... you can ask yourself: do you want to be Fed or Nadal? :p

If you are asking this question, it is very likely that the 90 is too demanding for you.

Or you could work like crazy with the Pro Staff 90 to improve your technique.

Basically (in my humble experience):

- PS90 - precise, low powered, small head, doesn't help you with anything, you have to position yourself for the stroke, bring your own power, great feel, lots of spin (if you hit right), great for learning, you really need to run

- AeroPro Drive - imprecise, heaps of power, large easy head, you can hit from strange positions, harsh on hand, even more spin than PS90, but not heaps more, can teach you bad habits, lazy player's racquet

Personally, I now use PS90 at 23/21.5 kg tension. I love the control and precision. I've done this under the philosophy that I want my racquet to do what I tell it to do, and not what it wants to do. At the beginning of the year I used a Pure Drive Roddick and tested the AeroPro Drive. Learned my lesson :-)

Everything you said here basically defames the APD, I can make the same argument in favor of the APD but I won't. The APD is a racquet meant for people of all skill levels due to its relative ease of use. For some people the spin and power of the APD is just what they want(obviously not for you). Also, the APD does have heaps of more spin than the PS90 if you are able to hit correctly. Both are 16x19 but one is a whole 10 sq in. larger meaning that its string pattern is overall a good amount more dense. Harsh on hand is subjective, for the one year period that I used the APD I experienced no problems whatsoever and I'm pretty sure many can say the same.

You bring very good points.

As it's normal, it's all a matter of perspective. From my perspective, with a more "direct" kind of game/stroke, PS90 is more appealing. From a spin player's perspective, APD is better. Also, as I said, it's a choice of bringing your own power or be helped by the stick.

The APD requires good placement control, to overcome the bouncy large head, while the PS90 requires good precision to avoid hitting with the frame.

I guess we are writing in the spirit of the forum, as no post brings the whole truth, but the personal truth, so the more people write, the better :)

Should I play Wilson Blx prostaff 6.1 90 or Babolat Aeropro drive cortex? and Why is it better?

OP
What is your playing style - Baseline grinder or all courter?
What is your level, how well do you move?
Where do you want to go from where you are.

As many posts have suggested, APD will work for the most part but PS 90 will definitely improve your game.

Though I personally prefer the 90...This easier to play with APD is one of the biggest myths in my opinion... You need good footwork and good racket head speed to have a decent chance in a match. Because match conditions are very different from just hitting. In a match I tend to get a little stiff on big moments.. to avoid that you need good footwork and racket head speed to keep the ball deep with powerful rackets like APD. If you don't do that the ball will land short/in the net or sail long.
Thats my personal experience :)

I was surprised at the power i could generate with my prostaff 90 with a lower tension poly around 47lbs. I dare say it but I could get even more power with it due to the fact i could whip it through the air much faster due to the smaller head vs the bigger headded pure drive that i had previously played with. Just look at fed vs roddick not saying im federer lol but in the right hands, the 90 can be a very powerful heavy topspin machine, federers forehand back then was a monsterous shot just like tysons uppercut and alis blazing left jab no would could step up to the power control and depth he could create with a 90 square inch racket. Low tension is key and good technique, the 90 is a beast in the right hands. My k90 is a little more head heavy 6pts so the power level is great for me. For me its a keeper!
