I'm glad to see the removal of the logo on the net. Now bring back the singles' net for singles.
I think it's only because it's a joint event with the WTA. We'll see it probably for ATP only events. Unfortunately.I'm glad to see the removal of the logo on the net. Now bring back the singles' net for singles.
Well, I guess its what you are used to. I don't find paper ads intrusive if I can ignore them, such as on airplanes. However, I do hate junk ads stuffed in my mailbox. Its even done out here in Moldova. As to turning down volume, then I would miss the commentary. Good broadcasters do not talk during the play of the points and reserve it for the pause in the game, particularly at change overs. Having been gone from the states for so many years, I have gotten out of practice on the need for commercialism everywhere. Its much more pleasant that way.Don't go on a slippery slope here with airlines and trains. There are paper ads in those places. I don't find it offensive. It's during changeovers. There is no tennis being played. There have been some that were quite entertaining. Little jingles and such. They are not as loud as they seem on the streams. I have not attended many sporting events outside of America, but all that I have attended do have advertising. It's part of sports. No sports can survive without it. You are entitled to your opinion, but I, as ticket buyer, don't care if they advertise. There is nothing on my ticket that says I won't be subjected to ads. (There's usually an ad on my ticket, though.)
Would I prefer there were no ads? Sure, but I also would prefer a hot oil rubbed man to hold an umbrella while I sit in my massaging chair in the best seat in the stadium. Advertising money is how everything is run. Ticket sales only fund part of tournaments and the players earnings.
Anyways, I understand that you find it offensive, but I think it's easy to just turn down the volume during changeovers and not take offense. That's all.
I'm an American who has been working abroad for a number of years. Do get back to the states about once a year. What makes America great is that we are free to criticize our country and love it at the same time. Oh, I have a house in Walnut Creek. My college student son lives there.and what nationality are you, Leublu?
(i really want to know)
You made this point before, including the America bashing, and I called you on it. Either you didn't see my response or you ignored it. So let me start there and see if I have any better luck.
edit: It was most noticeable at Bercy, France as well as at Rotterdam, but i've noticed it elsewhere as well.
TW decide for me!
do I set an alarm and wake to watch Nadal v Nalbandian, or do I just sleep and see what comes in the morning xD
I'm having triple heart beats... what a come back. Nalby is so IN FORM, hammering Nadal.......HOW Nadal has the nerve I don't know... still not over the 2nd set.. VAMOS RAFA
i really believe the crowd helped rafa overcome.
just before time was called for rafa to serve 4-5
a few fans started chanting, "Let's go Rafa, let's go." Rafa seemed to respond to that and more and more of the crown joined in. It was probably just the thing of wanting to see more tennis, but Rafa took it to heart, and from then (and after saving 5 match points), there was no stopping Rafael Nadal.
Oh, I pity his next opponents!
It'll be like tom cruise in "mission impossible"
where he says, "youve never seen me angry"
only Rafa isn't angry;
he's just unbeatable right now.
Rafa was defintely irritated with himself though during the 2nd set. He was furious in fact! Pulling his shirt in disgust and so funny he made one shot and my hands went automatically to my head in an "oh no" and he did the same.....almost simultaneously. I had a good little laugh to myself. It was a break point opportunity where he just missed the crosscourt low backhand return. It would have been a winner and saved him some trouble further down the line... but he did it....defintely some weird shots in that match. But hoenstly, I've never seen Rafa be spot on in late night matches. He seems to like playing in the heat of the day.

Thanks should give him extra rest reckon he is gunna cream Del Potro.
I think Del Potro will win. Yup, that ballsy. I'll put money on it too.
No chance.
A). Del Potro doesn't move well
B). He struggles to create angles than Nalbandian can
C). He isn't good at the net so he wont be able to go there if he's struggling
D). He struggles when opponants change the pace with slice.
I won't watch JMDP vs. Nadal - two of the most boring players on the tour against each other. Yawn.
Well you can read about it afterward. People post an amazing numbe of comments while the game is going on.
Did you actually bet or say you would bet? Pretty easy match for Nadal surprisingly but Nadal has a second life I think after escaping Nalbandian.I think Del Potro will win. Yup, that ballsy. I'll put money on it too.
