Who is better?

On a side note: If you think this topic rings a bell from your high school days in the library, lets get it on. ;) LOL!

Although Hendrix amazingly managed to pump out some very good music through his drug-induced haze - I'm all about Marley. Three little birds perched on my doorstep - all about the love!!

Dude - This is like apples and oranges. Like trying to compare a Sherman tank with a P-41 Mustang...both made great music, but vastly different styles through different "platforms". I couldn't even choose...

yeah, I could...if you put a gun to my head and ask me to choose between Marley's Greatest Hits and Hendrix's, I'd take Hendrix. In a heartbeat. But it's not really a "fair" choice to offer.

Oh, I know. Replying to that thread of daring stuff brought back old memories of stupid HS antics.
Truth is, I like them both. Back then, however, me and a fellow student began a fued over this very topic that lasted one month or more. I took Marley and he was an acid using Hendrix fan. We would find the teachers and other staff to ask them their opinion on this nonsense. This caused a rule change banning students from the library during lunch hour, unless you had a pass. LOL We got passes, and the spectacle lived on. Anyway, I thought I would torture the board with this silly topic. However, I have a feeling many of the kiddies here have never listened to either.

WOW! Marley is winning. I think an "I told you so" will be in order at a future HS reunion.

No question. Totally different music categories. Like Henry Mancini and Elton John. Yep, they're both piano players,......but.

I agree completely

(pssst....it's P51 Mustang (the closest thing to P41 was the P40 Tomahawk of Claire Chennault's Flying Tigers Fame).

But, for my listening dollar, I'd rather liten to Hendrix than Marly. You can only say Jammin so much in my book. ;)

Gimme some Purple Haze, Dolly Dagger, Crosstown Traffic, Manic Depression, All Along the Watchtower, or The Wind Cries Mary any time. Hell, you know you're good when you cover a Bob Dylan tune and when Bob hears it and he goes back into the studio and rerecords his own song to sound more like your version.

I completely agree. These two were so talented, but they were so different that it's tough to pick between the better of the two. That said, Hendrix was a better guitarist.

What the heck??

How do you compare these guys? They are iconic in their own right, but musically could not be more different.

My vote - both.
