I remember him from his Vanderbilt days. Now into the 3rd round with his upset of seeded Pavil. This guy is ranked so low he was #16 alternate into the qualifying singles. Some guys failed to show, he gets into the qualies, wins 3 matches, gets in the main draw and wins first two matches including upsetting a seed. If he wins another match his ranking may be high enough to get directly into main draw at Roland Garros. Quite a success story.

As Tym would say, it just does to show how close these guys are in ability, the question is can he bring it week to week ? I don't think he's even won a challenger yet, but I'm pulling for him.

just to give you couch jockeys some perspective, he has only been playing full time for about a year and a half since leaving school and he has moved very quickly and quietly up the ladder...
i think his entry ranking was like 285 leading into the Australian, for a college guy out of school for a year and a half, that is VERY good.
i love to see the college guys doing well, so big props to Kevin Kim and Abi Spears as well.
