Bold prediction. Federer, Nadal or Djokovic will NOT win a single slam in 2020.

They have won the last 12 slams so I do not think that out of a sudden they won’t win a single one in a whole season. We had this situation before with generation useless winning Bo3 tournaments only to completely fold in slams. On top, I cannot imagine anyone dethroning Nadal at RG this year. However, what I can imagine is that in 2020 we will have a new slam winner, most likely Medvedev.

RG will be pretty much an indoor event from now on. Djokovic and Thiem will really like that. Nadal not so much.

I don't think Federer wins a slam. Outside shot at Wimbledon.

Nadal has a great shot at RG, and an outside shot at the Australian or U.S Open.

Djokovic has a great shot at the AO. Shaky favorite for Wimbledon. Long shot at either the French or U.S Open.

I think they still win 2 of the 4 most likely.
Agreed, I can’t see them all fading so much that they win nothing. Nadal will be super motivated to win the FO to equal Fed’s slam record (I’m assuming neither of them win the AO).

Other slams are more open but to expect Novak Djokovic to not win any of them is a long shot. Federer still wants another slam as well, and could still power to victory at SW19 once again.

I know it is not very likely but both Djokovic and Nadal out at the group stages and Federer on his way out to Tsitsipas made me think change is finally coming. Maybe not 2020 but for sure it will not be that long.

Cool. Let's bump this thread in a year to find out. Hasn't happened in 15 years and, from the looks of it, won't happen for the next 15

I’d be happy with that. Can’t see it happening either. But one of the next gen is going to at least get to a slam final.

Medvedev has great chances at the moment. I think he could have a strong showing at AO. Thiem I think could win for sure but we would have to see how his start to 2020 goes. He mainly contends for RG in the past. Federer is still pretty much guaranteed to make the quarters of every slam, he still maintains a high rank. Djokovic is probably guaranteed semis. Nadal is prolly iffy everywhere except RG where he's probably guaranteed finals.

I'm tempted to laugh at this OP, but honestly, while there's a pretty small chance of this coming to pass, it's not a zero percent chance.

Highly unlikely. Slams are 5 sets, and with a day gap in between. Big 3 have experience, and are still in form! Slams are nothing like the 3 set tournaments.

It will be a big thing even if 1 slam is taken by someone new!!

Change is coming, but not in 2020. I think that Big 3 still have 2 or 3 years left.

The good thing about this prediction is that there is a high probability that this will go wrong in just 78 days. Feb 2 nd is AO final, exactly 78 days from now

Yeah, keep dreaming.

Best Of 5 is still a different animal. Nadal owns most of the NextGen. He owns Roland Garros.

Djokovic saves his best for slams.

I think a younger player MIGHT sneak a slam. But expect Nadal & Djokovic to win the rest. Would not count out Federer at Wimbledon either.

I get the feeling they are all on their way down and the next gen has been knocking on the door för some time now. 2020 is the time when the transition will finally happen.
I agree almost but nadal is a lock for fo. Draw depending, he could win 2-3. Fed is cooked, and Djokovic needs to tweak his game a bit.

Maybe 1-2 GS titles will be won by someone other than Fedalovic in 2020, but all 4 GS titles? Certainly not. OP overestimates the impact of results at WTF on the future.

I can definitely see Djokovic and Federer not winning one but it's hard to imagine anyone being capable of stopping Nadal at RG.

I think their domination is slowly coming to an end as they are all getting older and next gen looks like it's finally knocking on the door...about time if you ask me. Still I don't think I would go as far as to say none of the top 3 will any slam next year simply because next-gen are still unproven at the slam level, BO5 is a different beast to tackle. When you look at grass/Wimbledon, it's hard to imagine next-gen beating either a healthy Federer or Djokovic as it's the surface they are generally the least comfortable on. If they win a slam, I'd expect it to happen on 1 of the 2 hard court slams.
