@Babolat Official when are you going to give WEARHOUSE europe more PA VS ? It’s out of stock at least for 2 months :(

Hi DJ,

Hard for me to know, given the state of the supply chain issues. I'm not exactly sure how they are handling the inventory situation in Europe, but I would suggest asking TW Europe directly if you haven't already. Here in the US, TW is in constant contact with our sales team and they have the most up to date information. I imagine it is similar in Europe.

Hi yessir,

We will be launching a new Pure Aero later this year, and there will not be a new Strike until some point the following year. The time-frame has been a tad elongated due to Covid, and all of the resultant factory and supply chain issues.

Will there be a new Pure Aero Vs later this year as well?

Do you know yet if Babolat will keep the Swing weight low on the New Pure aero racket to be released this fall ? like the previous current version ? Thank you

Why is there no Pure Strike VS Tour unlike in the previous generation? Don’t you think there is a market of 4.5+ players for thin beam racquets that weigh 12 ozs? I bought the previous generation of Pure Strike VS Tour to try and didn’t like it only because it was more uncomfortable than its stiffness RA and the sweet spot was too small. Willing to try out a new one in stock form, but I am not going to lead up a standard weight version.

Yep, just got the email from Tennis-Point as well. $269 USD. Medium-high street price, but given the recent price increases for, well, everything, not unexpected.

As for the TW review... mid 80's across the board. Good at everything, phenomenal at nothing. Seems very VCore 95 like, albeit instability at the tip of the hoop. Hrm...

Aesthetically, love the frame PJ but the tan leather grip brings it a little undone for me. Would have been much better with a black leather grip. At least it will be easy to either replace the grip or cover the stock one with an OG.

I love the tan leather grip! Absolutely hate black leather ones.
Different strokes different folks.

Oh, I have no issue with tan coloured leather grips per se. They look great on a lot of racquets. I just think that the tan colour on this raquet detracts from the beautiful bold colours of the frame itself.

But as you say ... "Each to their own". :)

Question. I recently purchased a PA Roland Garros 300 gr. 2019 edition . It's the second in the past year. The first was under spec 20 gr and this last one around 10 gr. I weighted them up with lead in the hoop and silicon in the handle to match a flag edition that I have that weighs 320 gr. strung with overgrip. Am I simply unlucky, or was there a bad batch with the RG rackets ?

Did you buy the Team/Lite? Or a fake? Never heard of a 20 gram out of spec racquet...

I have 2 rafa pure aeros that could very well be around that difference. Going to a nearby shop to see if they can be matched today as I much prefer the heavier one. Both were bought from reputable places brand new. Although they were from different places so maybe it was a different batch?
I did not believe what people said about the QC issues with babolat until I bought these.

if it's more than 7 grams out of spec I think you can get it replaced through Babolat

Hi Micheluzzo,

I haven't heard of any bad batches of these racquets, nor of any of our racquets being that far out of spec. In fact it's rare to find them out of spec in general in my experience. There can certainly be some variation within the published +/- 7 gram tolerance listed between two frames, but I don't see many of them off by more than +/- 5 generally, at least in the many I've had to spec through the years. As @marceloriosfan said, if they are out of spec, that would be a warranty issue, provided they are within a year old and were purchased through an authorized dealer. Please DM me your contact information and we can dive deeper into this if you like.

Thanks Josh. I bought both second hand ...so that nullifies any warrenty issue. Is there any way I can validate their authenticity via serial no° ?

Is it rude to volley everything, and not hit groundstrokes?
Pure Strike 16/19 makes it hard to resist.
Probably going to get thrown out of my club but not before I have had a lot of fun

Is it confirmed that the new Pure Aero and Pure Aero vs will arrive this summer ?
New Aero and Aero Vs , hah you must be dreaming. They cant even stock the Pavs , let alone bring new models in. Something is going seriously wrong with Babolat supply chain.

Josh has indicated that the new Pure Aero should arrive later this year ...

So Yest! The PA is most probably going to be here by the Australian Summer which begins on December 1st. :)

In typical years (comparing to the most recent pure drive release), we should have had some information on the new pure aero Sept/Oct, 2021. It is now April and still nothing. Let’s hope sooner not later. Will they actually update the racquet or just make it the new Rafa paint job?

Hi Kozzy,

I do not have an eta on these grommets unfortunately. If I hear anything I'll let you know, but it likely will be months.

Josh
Thank you! I probably won't need them for a good long while (they are robust) but hopefully they'll be available before that happens. I appreciate the response.

@Babolat Official Also to add onto Kozzy’s question, what does the “VS” moniker mean?

Hi OldMan,

The story goes that as we were testing new prototypes of our gut in the 1920's, one of the test strings was labeled as V. V was superior to all the other prototypes, so VS means V Superior. Here is a link to more on the history of our gut from TW: Babolat Natural Gut Definitely worth checking out.
