Should be rolling out in early 2014. To me, it's in between a leather and syntec pro. I prefer the syntec pro (after having been a leather guy for a while). However, a couple guys in the office have started putting this on their racquets (not just the new hybrid line).

Well I'd be more interested in a Pure Control with Wimby colourway than an APD or a PD. Even if a Wimbledon PD would make sense just because of Roddick, but we already had one last year. You know, grass, precision playing, S&V, very classic things... Doesn't sounds a lot like the APD, the PD or the Strike, much more like the Pure Control/Storm.

It makes more sense for it to be the AeroPro Drive. It has been used by the winner of Wimbledon twice*. The Pure Control has never been used to win Wimbledon.

*Not including Doubles because I was too lazy to look up the winners.

    Babolat Official,

Any word on when we will hear from Babolat regarding the TW "Play" playtest? I was chosen and told to expect to be contacted by Babolat.

Here's a vote for the APD in French Open colorway, since Nadal owns it.

Do we get to keep them? Or will we have to return them after a while of play testing?

Will the grommets of apd fit the pure strike. Or is there any chance for black grommets as a spare? I don like the red grommets but the racket looks nice.

I'm almost certain the APD grommets won't fit the strike. (Different beam width, head size and everything). But then again, I might be wrong?

It would be nice if Babolat or someone else re-introduced a weighted side guard like they used to have on the Pure Drive, which one could add to give more weight and stability to the head.

I notice Wilson is now etching a ruler on the sides of their new lines to measure the lead, but this is probably of decorative value mainly.

Yep I think TF is doing them too with their T-Fit racquets. They even have a free packet of lead with the racquet.

    Hi Daniel,

Question: Will the 2014 Pure Storm be offered in a different weight besides 10.4 and 11.3 for the tour (preferably around 10.7-10.9)? I currently use the 10.4 Pure Storm and have been looking for a heavier racquet. However, 11.3 is too heavy for me.

Also, I just recently tried the Pure Strike 10.8 version. My initial reaction is that it is very similar to the Wilson Blade. It felt radically different from any other Babolat and played pretty well, however, it was a little too stiff and I still feel more comfortable with the Pure Storm. I'm looking forward to trying the 16x19 version in the future.

Finally, what will the main colors/cosmetics be for the 2014 Pure Storm? Red, orange, green?

Every TW playtest has required them to be sent back.

Will there be new racket bags to go with the Strike/Control line? If so, has anyone got any photos?

I guess. I always considered that a different sort of thing. They asked other retailers as well as having their own through facebook. Not one of TW's annual playtests.

They are not designed for it, but I'm guessing someone will figure out how to hack them.

The PS update won't change static weight. New cosmetics are really awesome on the standard, I'm not in love with the look of the Tour.

Same thoughts on new hybrid line. I thought I switch to 16x19 , but it turns out the 100 (16x19) with added weight may be my new frame.

Although many will dispute it, based on whether they believe cortex does anything (if it changes the feel of the racquet, is must do something, right?)....

I think the new one plays stiffer, with less power, and some change in SW.

For my game, that translates into more control.

Playing at 5200 ft, the 2013 APD is my favorite of the family.

Playing at sea level, I prefer the 2010 or non-cortex (not a fan of 1st cortex model)

How many people actually know what altitude they are playing tennis at or even have the chance to play at such different altitudes?

^^ I think Bab USA is in Colorado, where everyone knows their elevation (5200 feet?), whereas the French headquarters is in Lyon, which for the most part is close to sea level.

I currently use the 2010 AeroStorm GT. Just wondering if any of the new Pure Strike racquets would be a good replacement? Also when would be the earliest date for pre sale? I'm a college player and I really would like to make the transition between racquets before the spring season begins.

Believe it or not I was a skeptic but things like these do affect you I play in Florida and its super humid but in Vegas or Arizona with 0 humidity balls were super fast in comparison to what I am use to it was strange at first but you do get use to it same thing for elevation

Some players are making the switch easily, some are finding it harder than others. Worth a demo. It will be in stores Jan 2014. Check with your retailer (TW?) for specific dates on when demos start.

    Shoot me an email dbecker@babolat.com

UPDATE: demoing will likely start around Jan 15, the first official sell date. There are seeding samples in the field with teaching pro, etc.

A pro at my club got the new pure strike demo. Holy crap- it looks so good. He had the tour version - I didn't get to hit with it, but it felt very good. I am an open pattern person- and I don't think I can wait until may for it. Got to give the 18/20 a go and see how it feels!

    Great job Babolat.

That is tough. Easiest way would be to find a dealer with an RDC and match specifically.

We took note and banned you.

    Just kidding.

We'll be doing testing with full cosmetics in January. TW will let you know when to apply.

If you like the open, the 16x19 is nice...but the 16x19 100 is amazing. It just needs a little weight.
