Bonjour from Babolat

Thanks Daniel.

I am curious if Babolat ever takes feedback from a customer who switches frames? A simple data survey to collect feedback.

We do pretty extensive research with a variety of demographics. Surveys, interviews, blind testing of old vs. new, vs. competitors similar spec models.

so... any word on APD? Are we getting a French Open paint job? Play version for 2015?

Apologies ahead if this has been revealed in the 200+ pages!

No I am not. I never did. Please reread my post. Your input isn't needed at all.

Please do yourself and others a favor by a taking and passing a 5th grade equivalent reading comprehension course and stop trolling your opinion into my wishlist from Babolat.

Babolat can take the input from players and store owners who want something, and make their decision. They certainly don't need advice from you regarding what I am looking for. Daniel responded to me and said he will pass my feedback to his team. You don't need to interject your .02 into my wishlist. Have more respect for people when they are interacting with Daniel, and simply keep your opinion out of other's feedback to him. This is about as blunt as I can be to you, since you clearly feel the need to interject your .02

If you want to give Daniel a wishlist, knock yourself out. I don't need, want and would never take your advice on anything. Your reputation on this forum speaks for itself.

FROM POST #4016
See that is just it. it is your wish list. meaning you are getting specific to what you want and what works for you and not for masses. you and few people thinks it is good for you so you think there is market for it. PD that is more flexible like 65. There is NO market for it. at least not enough to make a profit....

is the "Babolat Pure Drive 12 Bag" the new bags that are coming out for 2015? And will a Pure Control be available? Loving the new design over the old ones :)

OK, rant time: that new Pure Drive 12 bag certainly looks the part, has some cool features and all, but it's just a little bit too small to actually fit PD+ rackets. I mean, one can somehow manage to cram 2 frames (L3, mind you) inside one of the racket compartments and somehow even close the zipper, but it's very, very tight. Why buy a 12-pack if you can only fit one racket in each compartment? Do you guys ever try the bags before you ship them?

I have not tried with any + length rackets. I carry 6 regular length frames and didn't have an issue. I'll pass it on to the bag team. Thanks for the feedback.

Please show us a pic of a PD+ not fitting in the compartment.

Just an extra half inch made it a problem for them to fit into the bag? Really? I love the look of the new bags.

In some bags I had enough room to pack it head or butt cap end first. In one particular bag though I had to go butt cap first when taking multiple racquets with me.

Thanks, but I don't plan on switching to regular-length Pure Drives anytime soon. Every other bag in my collection works – Tecnifibre, Nike, Pacific, whatever – so it's not a big deal.

Sure. Actually one PD+ fits the racket compartment just fine:

But you don't buy a 12-pack bag to carry only one racket, do you? As I said, 2 rackets just barely fit:

And yes, you can actually close this zipper with a little bit of force:

(I for sure wouldn't want to do this on a daily basis, as you always end up scraping the grips on the zippers.)

There is absolutely no way this bag can hold 3 plus-length frames in one compartment, though. Kinda weak for a 12-pack:

Yes. When I have the time I'll try another copy of the bag at a local store. Maybe I just got sent a lemon.

Tried this, makes no difference (the tall end of the bag doesn't open up enough to comfortably insert plus-length frames butt-cap first).

thanks for sending this over, I have forwarded to the product team

^^^^^^^^Is that really 12 racket bag ? Only 2 rackets fit in one compartment ?? sure hope it has 2 thermal protected compartement ?????

there are two side compartments and a large center compartment

how many thermal protected compartments does it have ? I like to protect all rackets and strings that I have. and is the Nadal's Aeropro bag that is red and black a lot better than this one ?? because it sells for about $10 more than the pure drive bag ......

I just got the new bags. One 3-racquet bag and one 12-racquet bag. They are nice. I was able to squeeze 4 regular size racquets in the 3-bag. So it holds 3 nicely.
For the 12-racquet bag, 7 regular size racquets fit comfortably in the center compartment, but on the side compartments, I am able to squeeze 2 regular size ones on each side, but on one side, it's a tight squeeze. The racquets are pressing on each other.
I don't have extra long racquets, so I was unable to try with them.

These are nice bags. My previous 3-racquet bag (Dunlop) had the shoulder strap on the bottom which I didn't like. But it was able to fit 5 racquets comfortably. But I switched to the PDR racquets recently and love them, so thought I would get the new bags. Plus my old bag was getting worn out :)

Hi Daniel,

My Babolat Play is no longer able to synchronize data with my mobile devices. It works fine on my computer, but I rarely use it there. I'm all up to date and blue tooth is connected. Any thoughts? I've been using it with my iPad for months with no problems. Also, the racquet hasn't had any bad knocks on the court, etc. am I missing something? Thanks!

I've experienced similar issues and still experience the issues periodically. I access my Play data for 3 accounts on 6 Apple devices. My Play app will hang in the "synchronizing" stage.

The fix has been a simple logout and login. I hope it's as simple for you too. Good luck.

I've also had this issue. It sometimes, however, takes me multiple sign outs/logins to correct the problem.

Wow you weren't kidding. Thanks for posting up the pics. I hate when people suggest you need to fit the racquets in the bag like a puzzle; I for one want my outer compartments to hold 5-6 racquets EASILY, so I can fit all my bulky heavy gear in the middle. Not carry 7-8 racquets in the middle and just one (maybe two) in the outer slots. Fail of a design Babolat. Heading to amazon right now to cancel my order since my Babolat APD+ racquets won't even fit in a Babolat bag.

What is the official US retail price for black VS Touch?

Babolat is well known for not allowing discounts on current stuff. You can't use loyalty coupons/discounts or store coupons to buy their stuff.

At our local PGA store they're selling Touch for $46.99. I tried to explain to them that everyone else is selling it for $42.95. They said Babolat would not let them "discount" it.

So is TW breaking the Babolat rule and discounting Touch? Or is PGA price gouging or failing to update their POS data?

We have four people in our house who use Touch so over the course of a year of string jobs it starts to matter.

Dear Babolat, I recently bought a used babolat sensor expert dual, my question is that the clamp of the sensor expert is the same as the Star 5? I found the mine doesn't work, and I disassemble the clamp, the inner metal piece is broken, the upper part is crashed from the whole metal part,

I think the piece won't cost too much if babolat agree to replace the part, but buy a new clamp, how much does it cost? can I buy a used Star 5 or sensor clamp to replace the mine?

I live in France, does babolat repair or can send me the broken part so that I can replace it by myself?

Best,

I tested the NEW pure drive and I really dont' like the balance at all. I like the power though. Tons of power on everything, serves to groundies.

It's not a question of balance. It's one of weight distribution. The new one is slightly polarized and that seems typical for Babolat with the older one being the aberration.

Not sure who you're calling a girl. You may want to check yourself if you can't handle a frame with a 317 SW.

326, this is Higher than 2012 model + version. I am not saying I can't handle it, I am just saying I Don't like it that they increased the swingweight. It is Stupid. for all those guys that do want the Higher SW, all they have to do is put 1 piece of lead tape from Babolast at 3 and 9 oclock position in the head.

For those people that want the Lower SW, there is no way to achieve that.

I agree. Fedace should have said he doesn't like the weight distribution or swing weight instead of saying balance.

I agree NadalGirl..... I said new version is harder to swing and slower swingspeed, which ONLY means Swingweight..............LOL

Ok, thanks for the clarification.

I think that for the future, the Tour version should be slightly heavier. Maybe 12-12.3 oz. For us advanced players, there just needs to be more mass. There is already a light version (regular Pure Drive), but what is needed is a 12 oz version at least. The Tour is good withdsome lead tape, but really, so many racquets nowadays are so light it's ridiculous. I'm a male, 140lb on a good day and I lead up my racquet to at least 350 swingweight. It would just be nice to have a bit of a heavier racquet in stock form.

I know where you are coming from. But it is all about what the Mass public wants and needs. There is very very small market in the general public amateur players for a racket with swingweight of 350. Once again, it isn't that amateur can't handle the 350 SW, but they just don't want to.
I don't want to worry about getting late on a shot against a guy that hits big balls or in the 3rd set on a hot day, worry about getting late on the shot.

Also we want to do the Least amount of work and let the racket do most of the work.
That is what the public wants.

I think that is one of the benefits of a heavier racquet. It does most of the work. Some of my "colleagues" wonder how I do so well being so slight, and I always say it is the racquet doing most of the work, because I weight it up so much. It actually allows me to save energy. Plus I get no tennis elbow or physical distress (knock on wood) using stiff racquets. Because I weight them up to around 13 oz. This is the secret. It's just a very bad trend what has happened the last 10-15 years in general. I'm glad I gave the PDR a shot, being only 11.8 oz, because with a bit of lead on it, it is the best racquet I've ever played with and can withstand heavy, forceful shots. Anything just a few tenths of an ounce lighter (even with lead tape), just flutters against these shots.

Sorry about that! I'm like you, I always use my device.

I would suggest uninstalling and re-installing the app. If that does notwork, call the hotline and they can walk you through some trouble shooting: +18773169435

Merci beaucoup, thanks a lot,

BTW, the turntable is not as smooth as it should be, I have to make some forces to turn the table, I feel some resistance when I push the table, does babolat France can help me to solve this problem? I believe it's the three cylinders with electrical wire touch the bottom of the turntable and make it slow,

I have sent you an email, and will send you more photos about the crashed clamp, as well as a video to show the status of the turntable,

Best,

Thanks, Daniel. The Aero bag fits extended rackets just fine, so I was rather surprised that the new PD bag doesn't work (for me).

Ironically enough, I just received the Dunlop Performance 12pack bag today from TW. Iordered this because it was supposedly 32" long and 18" wide....awesome specs. It suffers from the exact same problem as Bab's though: the racquet compartments have half-*ssed zippers and can only fit two (at max) of these APD+ racquets. Not good enough for me. I went over and read the review for the Tecnifibre ATP 12pack bag, and it ALSO appears to suffer from the same problem.

Looks like I'll be sticking with my One Strings bag, which can literally hold EIGHT racquets on both side pockets, but it has the shoe pocket along the bottom. But it's obviously the bag I need for these APD+ racquets.

Yeh...who designed the new bags? My PD 9-pack barely holds two 27" racquets in the climate protected compartment. I tried to put my friend's 27.5" AeroPro in and it was a stretch. Very poor design! I would have assumed this product would have been tested with players BEFORE going to market with it...it may be a good fit for children's 26" racquets, but not for most adults. Disappointed
