Why has the Pure Control paint job been virtually taken away from all players ? Giorgi was the last to go. Don't they want to sell any ? I remember reading there's something new being tried, Strike Control or something but it doesn't make sense to have the same paint job as the Strikes ? Although it's not a very popular racquet as you stated above I play PC 95+'s and love them. Thanks.

working on a new frame: Pure Strike CTRL

Do you think Babolat will announce in July when the new Pure Aero line will be available? From what I've read on this forum, it sounds like around the U.S. Open or late 2015 is the tentative timeline.

I'm more curious about when will the current APDs go on sale.
The prices initially do not usually drop to the extent that Wilson racquets do. Depending on how well the current APD is selling, they may initially only drop $20 for the first couple months.

That's disappointing news. I would definitely take couple more apd+ if they drop to what current 2012 pure drive's price

not yet....

Ok - if the Tour version has the beefier SW and softer flex it could be real special. Love the no Cortex. Sounds like you may have some pull at HQ with some of these new releases. Tons of people here have said they hated the cortex and that Rafa uses a PJ..etc..and here we are.

After yet again losing against ATP 100+ player looks like Rafa will need the new Pure Aero ASAP!
Give us the specs!

My pleasure. Glad to be a part of this crazy group of tennis fans.

Hey Dan a question i dont know if its been asked before. Why the maufacturers trend towards stiffer racquets across most of their ranges?

Is it just a "trend" for rec players or have manufacturers done the research and found the positives outweigh the negatives in todays tennis, even for pros?

I can only speak for Babolat. You'll have to ask the other manufacturer reps in the forums for their perspectives :).

We bring innovations to our products as the game evolves or where we think the game will go. Every aspect of a product has an advantage and a drawback. Think of it like a scale. You get "A" but you don't get "B". However, "A" may be paramount to an individual's game while "B" is is to another.

For example:
Stiffer racket advantages: power and stability
Stiffer racket drawback: control and comfort

That said, you can augment further with string set up, added weight, etc.

We highly encourage players of all levels to experiment, document, and fine tune their product choices until they have something that is best for their game.

Babman, have you thrown gut poly in the new PureAero by chance? Just curious how long you think tonic 1.35 would last in it. I may try this frame out at some point if I like the specs or can get it to my specs fairly easy. I have owned 5 versions of the APD. It's a fun frame to mess with.

Sorry, I've only tried RPM 17, RPM 16, RPM Team 17...

Is the pure aero a small or big difference from previous gen? I plan on demoing rackets in August and I currently have 2013 APD. Will it be out by then?

Hi Daniel,

I have a Babolat Pure Drive GT 2012 racquet and my head guard is not in good condition anymore. I'd like to change it next time I'll change my strings. I searched on TW and all I've found is that : http://www.tenniswarehouse-europe.com/Jonc_Babolat_Pure_Drive/descpageQDF-BDZLGROM-FR.html

Is it going to work with my racquet?

Thank you in advance

PS: Next time I need to ask something can I speak french or is it better if we stick to english?

This is the one:

I prefer English.

If you are worried you can also call TW directly. They have pretty amazing customer service.

I have no idea why they are waiting so long to release the specs. I guess they want a 6 week window, so maybe in Mid July the specs come out. Who knows. Maybe TW will have a demo opportunity for posters here.
