boris becker before puma?

struggle

Legend
before puma it was the adidas gtx-pro, as stated above.

certainly he is old enough to have used wooden rackets, but
i don't know any specifics. adidas seems an obvious choice.

edit: he won Queens and Wimbledon at 17 with the Puma (1985).
I think Tiriac had him change (ties with Vilas) to Puma,
it might have been the year prior. So if he used the
adidas for a few years that puts him back to 12 years old
or so. he likely would have been playing wood then (1979)..

...thank you, too,...I hoped this picture would have been of interest,

concerning the adidas Hurricane racquet, Siegfried Kuebler, in his "Book of Tennis Rackets", says :
bonded laminated wooden racket with an open heart and a top layer of fibres
(carbon-graphite-wood composite)

Thanks or posting that picture; I've never ever heard of the "Hurricane"; does any one have a close up picture of this racket? It is indeed one of the most beautiful rackets I've seen :)

The real thing (?)

...I am "refreshing" this thread, after some time,
in case roundiesee was ...still around, and for anyone that might be interested : I found on the main auction site what seems to be an adidas Hurricane wooden frame that was used by the young Boris Becker;

(the auction text said:
This Adidas "Hurricane Graphite ads 075" tennis racket was actually played by Boris Becker in his youth at the age of 13 years! Only four years later, he would win his first Wimbledon Title!
The red sticker on one side of the racket (picture 2) states: "Boris Becker, Leimen, 01.07.81".
The racket is in good condition and shows only very few signs of use. The leather grip is original and the strings were actually played and broken by Boris!
100% the real thing! The document in picture 5 (Mercedes-Benz Autohaus Boris Becker GmbH & Co.KG) is proof that the above racket was owned by Boris Becker)

And here are some pictures (sorry for the not so good quality)

...if this was a frame really played by Becker, as I hope, I think it would
be a quite nice collectible item

certificate

...and this is the document, in german, that (should) confirm the authenticity of this racquet (I left it horizontal, to make it big)

(as you may see, the previous buyer had bought also a pair of his Diadora shoes)

I think I also saw a pic somewhere of Boris using the Kneissl version of the Lendl racket at a yound age also?

Thanks so much ritton ! Really brings back those memories of such a beautiful frame ! And especially that sticker ! (What was it called guys? "Dynamo"?) Those red stickers were all the rage when I was a kid in school; we used to label everything from books to pencil cases ! :)
