I don't feel we should be too hard on him. He won the first 2 Slams of the year along with 3 Masters and finally achieved the CGS in Paris. I can understand why he may have gone a bit overboard in the "Let's celebrate and forget about everything else" mode. He was badly prepared coming into Wimbledon and he got punished for it. It was 1 slip. As Becker says, he's human after all. Knowing Novak, I'm pretty sure he's learned his lesson and is busy getting his act together in preparation for the busy hardcourt summer ahead.

Sometimes losses like this are not what you want, but what you need. Losing in the manner he did and then watching his great rival win the title should make him very uncomfortable and determined to ensure it never happens again. It is one thing preparing, trying and losing, it is another when you put a half baked effort in and expect to sleepwalk to the title. Hard work is never finished, not until you retire.

He was there 10 days before the start of the tournament. Images of him practicing almost every day were all over the internet. Becker is exaggerating a little bit here i feel. Querrey won fair and square, let's leave it at that.;)

Novak is Finnish.
Also whoever wrote the article doesn't have a clue about him as it says he is on vacation in Monte Carlo! Can someone have a vacation where they live?

Well, maybe the internet images were more for show than anything else. Becker is his coach and so is in a better position to know than anyone else and it does confirm the impression I and others have had. That said, I don't think Becker should go blabbing about it in public. He does have a big mouth and a tendency to sound off to all and sundry. Any criticisms of Djokovic's preparations should be a purely confidential matter between player and coach.

Good that you're trying to entertain trolls here.;)

It could be that Becker is smarter than we (behind keyboard) think

I think Novack read this forum and learned he had overachieved at Wimbledon while underachieving at Cincy, so he set his priorities right.

I think it's important to remember that all the top players read this forum constantly, along with their coaches.
They'd be insane not too - the whit and wisdom here is always breath talking........

Not sure what becker is trying to do here. Im not convinced all is well between him and djokovic . If anyone watches the querrey match djokovic got very animated with becker at one point when the rain delay came.

Ive read some saying becker is doing this to fire up djokovic but that seems strange as it just increases pressure on djokovic as he will have to face more media scrutiny due to beckers comments. It also gives encouragement to other players as well.

Personally i think becker has done as much as he can for djokovic. He clearly had an impact and their relationship was successful but djokovic now I think perhaps needs the fun brought back to tennis rather than more pressure.

Can't blame him for lack of preparation. As far as I know, Novak puts the most focus in training and preparation of all top players, but finally winning Roland Garros and holding all 4 deserves a bigger celebration. :)

Becker needs to just STFU. He's making passive aggressive remarks now because the realization has hit him: Novak has twice as many majors as Boris had. Seriously, don't think that fact hasn't sunk in with Boris, he's notoriously competitive and snarky.

Acrimonious maybe. Competitive and snarky, sure. But their handlers have ensured a safe space and a trigga-free transition.

For example, one of Becker's tweets said, "I....had...the time of my liiife."
What a ... schmaltz.
