Hi fellow TT members.
i was court side at yesterdays US Open match.. Coric vs Zverev
I saw Borna out slug Zverv.. which i did not expect was going to happen.
Lets take a good look into what stick, strings, weight and balance this warrior is using.
I dont have this information, but i know that my TT brothers do.
Please chime in and help make this thread the all encompassing Borna info thread.
Thanks again.. so what is this guy using??

From Coric's Facebook page dated August 29th!

There was some footage during the change over and it appears he has lead across the entire length of the hoop between 10 and 2.

I saw a hint of it in a photo but not enough to tell how much. Looking back he Has been in the tuning phase this whole hard court season.

Lead as 12 looks pretty wide against Zverev and Anderson

Looks to be a bit less at Winston Salem vs Isner

Against Donald Young in Montreal he didn't have any visible at 12

Yes he is overthinking it a bit right now and I believe he focuses on the wrong thing his equipment kind of like we do here but our livelihood does not depend on this and his does so he should listen to Tipsarevic advice.

When he matures a bit and stops fiddling with his stick he will get better results...(that's what she said )

That was cool insight, got anymore videos like that?

Seen a lot of his videos and seems like he would be a very good coach in the future.

Very interesting, in deed, esp. the part about being smart about racket choice in relation to the short career of ATP and WTA players.

Yes, Pouille might get a lot of $$$ changing from Prince to Babolat or Wilson (I know he's not), but since his rise in the ranks coincide with the change to the TT100P, he'd be risking a lot. It seems pretty evident that f.inst. Wozniacki and Dimitrov lost at least a year or two switching rackets, and it's def not self-evident that you are able to recover the lost ground even if you switch back to old trusty.

Awesome! He is meant to be a coach maybe next Magnus Norman
Tipsaravic needs to get his act together and get back in the top 20-30 tour players. I know he been injured; but the up and comers are pretty good now and so that makes his climb alot rougher today! As for coaching; it a tough occupation to be in. You can get canned at any time and your player can get hurt or just not the strongest mentally. I rather see him as a coach a Davis Cup or be head of Serbia Tennis Association. Individual players are a roller coaster affair!

I saw yesterday a lovely bounch of Wilson Ultra 100 sent to Coric for tryout.
Weight 332g, balance 315mm and 16*19 string pattern.
Seems that his search for ideal racquet is not over yet, probably never will .

Maybe Wilson is going to be releasing a 16 x 19 string pattern in a Utra Tour model. I do not think Coric has ever play with a "modern" racquets before but always with player type racquet frames. Coric has been changing racquets quite often and was sort of shock that he was co-endorsing the Wilson Ultra Tour - a 18x20 string pattern racquet that is PJ to Coric current pro stock racquet.

Perhaps he is on contract to be Wilson’s Verdasco.

You know switch frames every 8 months so the frame endorsements are sort of on a zone defense.

Thicker beam is and it's 100sq.in.

Saw him play with an all black frame today. I guess he's now sporting the new ProStaff CV pj?

It doesn't appear to have any markings at all. I would guess it is the 16x19 H19 he had that was blacked out before the paintjob was released. I would guess either he is trying a different setup or his blackout frames had a little different specs than what he requested with the ultra paint.

From one of the tv clips that I saw, it doesnt look like hes using the H19 anymore. The throat area isn't in a Y shape. Possibly H22 instead.

ProStaff CV pj?

That is an interesting thing to ponder though. Most of the ‘pro staff 97’ players use a full gloss paintjob now. When the retail frame is two finishes of black what will the all gloss version look like? Maybe a dark shade of grey at 3&9?

It seems that some player PJ have the glossy finish frames instead of the dull rubbery retail frame look. I guess they like what they like and Wilson custom shop does it thing to make it so! And why not? They the players have to have what they like so everything is just right to compete.

USO / Basel / Henri's H22

Judging from that pic and the 16x19 drill pattern, i'm leaning more towards it being a Blade than a H22. The gap on the bottom of the throat area where the grip tape is, on the H22's the gap is larger, than on the Blades. Easier to spin on your finger.

But we've only really had one pic to look at, looking forward to some more pics.

The overgrip covering the bottom curve always throws me off a bit. The head guard did look to have a V shape. His H19 had that, a blade has that, but other H19 and H22 don't if I remember right - they have a U shaped end.

I think all H19 16x19 have the V shape

What is the string pattern? If I remember right Monfils and Keys are U shaped.

Edit: actually read what you wrote, never mind. That makes sense, I just hadn’t seen another player using a h19 16x19

I saw Coric vs Clic match in Paris and Coric was hot and cold in his groundstrokes! He would look topnotch but when a point was a breakpoint, Clic would step up and save the point. I do not think it the racquet but his confidence.

Or 50 shades of grey for the womens version ;)

Coric is still on the endorsements for the Ultra Tour! What was Wilson thinking? I think Coric only has the PJ for three months and then went to blackout frame(s).

He is wilson’s Verdasco. They pay one guy and he runs around sporting a few different frames a season, sounds like a great investment!

Exactly! At least Verdasco when he changes racquets, it not blacked out but is a PJ racquet, at least when I saw him play. He may have played with a blackout frame but I do not see him play in the tournaments that I see him in.

Coric is for Wilson an anti racquet endorser! He endorse the Ultra Tour and leaves it for a blackout frame in short order! LOL!

All his racquets were made in Ultra colours and then he found out that H19 is not for him. Not enough power and spin, so here we go again from the start. This last one should be the one, enough power and spin. All I know that it is not H19 or Ultra 100 (he was not satisfied). Looks like something Mladenovic is using, head size 99.
