Bosworth Adidas NTP 90C mid

I got a pair of these Bosworth Adidas NTP 90C mids when they were made available by TW. I think it was approx 1 year ago but forget. At the time, there were soo many exciting Bosworth treasures available that these rackets did not get much notice. Most of the excitement was for the donnay borg pros, and adidas gtx proT's. I think these NTP sticks may have been upgrade candidates for Ivan to play test ? As far as I know, he never actually used them in tournament play. The seude leather grips were added so they just needed to be strung up. Not sure if any internal mods were performed.

The Adidas NTP series tennis rackets were released in 1989.
They featured rubber inlays in the handle and extended dampening rubber integrated into the racket throat. Adidas produced a 90 Graphite Carbon (C) and 90 Graphite Kevlar (K).

Im not sure of the exact specs, but I do know:
- carbon graphite, stiff, heavy approx 13 oz
- straight beam of about 22 mm.
- headlight and has a 16x19 string pattern.
- 5/8 suede leather custom grip

I have some pictures at the following location where a few other Lendl rackets are display:

Was going thru my rackets and just found them. They surprised me since they are soo nice and I never really found out that much about them. If anybody has more info then I would like to know. The post is mainly to show them off and hopefully add some more conversation to this sorta quiet time of the year.

All I know is that I want to haz it. I want to haz bofe of it.

Really nice sticks, Joe.
I have a Lendl GTX and a Lendl GTX mid. Both just awesome. But this 90 probably plays quicker through the air. When you say it's stiff...compared to todays sticks like a HEAD Speed 315 and a Babolat Storm Tour or AeroStorm Tour?

Ths frame reminds me of the best details of the Head Prestige Pro and the Völkl T9-30, and with the manipulated throat arms of some early 1990's Fischer models thrown in the mash-up. I've never hit with one, but I'd bet it plays great.

Adidas also made a 105 version of this, IIRC. Seems like Adidas lobbed these out into the market just as they pulled the plug on racquet production, not to start making racquets again until their ill-fated return with the Barricade frames - was it just three years ago?

^This guy is completely cool.

Retrowagen, I know we have mutually said this before, but next time I am in NorCal, we've got to get together for some hitting and maybe a beer or two, man.

I have not played them, I should have got 3 so I would not mind breaking up the mint pair. The only player who I found that played them claimed they were stiff and I think he meant compared to the same era racket but not like todays rackets you mentioned. It is difficult to buy nice player rackets and not used them. Im not that way with wine and beer, no need for a celler :)

Could any of you guys describe how the lendl signature racquets play? I've always been a fan of lendl's and would like to get an idea before I make the plunge. Those pics of Joe's collection are awesome!
Do they play anything like a prestige tour mid or pro staff 88(my#1)?
