Bouchard 2015 Racquet

So I was watching Bouchard playing Safarova yesterday at the Hopman Cup and noticed that she had a new looking stick. Although it has a similar design to the new play connect AreoPro Drive the colour scheme looks different as hers has more red and no yellow on it. My best guess is either a new racquet (maybe a new AreoStorm) or Babolat messed up on the paint job for her new racquets and have not had the time to replace them.

I saw Stosur last night with a new pj. Looks like a strike. Can't find any pics..
What does that have to do with Genie? Just that babolat has rolled out a lot of new pjs

Genie is on Tennis Channel and that is definitely PINK.. not Orange.
Caroline and Nadal's look ketchup red, to my eye.. and Genie's is definitely more neon pink. If it's orange it's a neon. She definitely has her own color.

Further hijacking this.
First, It's hot pink, I've decided with the other side being white.

And watching some feeds from Auckland, seems most of the ladies with Pure Drives have one side blue and the other pumpkin orange. interesting pjs on sticks this season

this frame is going to be a signature model for genie, it was originally planned to come out as an 26" model but babolat decided to bank on genie and it will be her signature paint job of the aero pro team for 2015

Here are some photos I took when stringing for her over a few weeks in december while she was training down here. Its an aero pro drive+. Same as the one she used when I strung for her in Cincy last year.

Nice pics. That grip looks huge. Is it the angle of the pic, or is she using a larger grip?

It looks more pink that what I had seen. Guess I'm colour blind.

I'm taking guesses, but partly this... and the fact that if you've held an APD in your hands, the grip shape looks big and feels big too.

Add pink Volkl Cyclone, a pink overgrip and wear a pink outfit and thee shall be dubbed "the humiliator" at every match you win ;) :p

To tell you the truth.. the color works for me. I'm not going to get it but I think it looks good on TV and obviously in these new photos. I wonder if other women will be using this pj?

Stick ain't her problem. She needs to smooth out that jacked up service motion.

And stop muscling the ball. Hit with a complete fluid swing.
I've never seen a player have so much edge over a competitor because of the racquet doing so much of the work for her. But that's for another thread.

(watch out, I stray from relevance and waste time) :
I watched some of her match, and I'm pretty sure Stoser is using an actual Pure Strike. The wide beam and and head-on thinness of the Strike are to me unmistakeable compared to the more traditional Pure Storm boxiness (I'm a former Strike user who used to seek out any possible footage of pros using it, yadda yadda...) She was good with it, would kick MY butt, but missed some shots that seemed to me growing pains from adjusting to the new stick (I honestly think Babolat is insane for making the racquets the exact way they did...the wind-flow over the frame is super confused, and makes the racket wobble when you swing it anything but perfectly head-on flat through a ball...almost their best racquet, but in practice one of their least predictable and most flawed creations...)(i used them for months, eventually admitted to myself that i could not conquer the cobra-wobble, which i think (unverifiably) happened to almost everyone who used any of these competitively)

Stosur is using a Pure Strike CTRL, a new model we're working on

Hey, Drakulie,

Long time no see :) I didn't know this is your profession.

Now: Bouchard vs Halep, based on the TW store parameters:

Strung Weight: 9.8oz / 277.83g
Swingweight: 300
http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/Babolat_Aeropro_Lite_Pink/descpageRCBAB-BPDLP.html

Strung Weight: 11.3oz / 320.35g
Swingweight: 332
http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/WIlson_Burn_100/descpageRCWILSON-B1H.html

Could Bouchard's stick be this light?
I think not but ...

Thanks.

First of all neither of them is using the racquets you're referring to.

Halep is using a Steam 99 with a Burn paintjob.
Bouchard is using an Aeropro Drive+ with a Aeropro Lite Pink paintjob.

Lead tape is your friend.

Well, thanks. Kind of expected the paintjobs.

So, what are then the real weight and balance for these two real racquets? :)

I know Halep mentioned yesterday "25-24 Kg" for the tension.

Bouchard is using an Aeropro Drive + at stock specs. Her frame is pink to support the Aeropro Lite Pink. If someone strings one of Genie's rackets they can confirm, it does not say "Lite"...it says "Aeropro Drive +.:

Any info on grip size, string gauge, and tension of strings?

Babolat Official, I'm curious to know, will Genie have her own signature racquet or will she just endorse the Aeropro lite?

^^^ I may be corrected but from what I understand, she has yet to sign a deal with babolat and her contract is going to expire soon. One of the big things is that Genie wants her own line of racquets. Also interestingly I'm not sure if this has been discussed yet but babolat is actively pursuing milos. He has tested leaded up versions of the strike and pure drive but apparently his favourite frame is the aero pro. I would assume babolat is looking to cash in on one if not both canadians. again i'm sure babolat official will point out any errors I have stated

not too many errors (and I only so much I can say)

1) Genie is under contract with us. She has her own line in Canada.

2) You'll have to ask the Wilson rep...
