One thing is for sure. It’s going to need customization. Stock it’s going to feel like a fly swatter. It’s going to need weight in the hoop. As well as the butt. My ideal weight is 11.9 oz strung. And about 4 -5 pats head light.

Just got mine from delivery driver and since courts are closed....I will just stare at it [emoji25]

How is the grip size compared to other racquets that you have? The 3rd Gen Pure Strike I had was 4 1/4 but felt more like a 4 3/8 compared to my Wilsons

I've got a 4 1/4 and I would definitely say it feels much closer to a 3/8, mostly due to the syntec pro replacement grip. I removed the Syntec Pro replacement grip and then added a Syntec Team replacement grip and then added a vs original grip. It feels great. I've used 4 3/8 with this set-up, but this downsizing to a 4 1/4 with the grip change feels much better for my game now. It's a great stick!

How is the stick comfort wise ? Is it similar to pa 2019?

I found the comfort pretty good, but it is a firm racquet. However, I thought the dampening was really great. I like a stiffer set-up since I string RPM Blast 16g at 52 lbs. I really liked the set-up in this frame. Some additional weight would probably help with increased comfort. Just my opinion..

In your experience, what racquet would you say plays similarly to the new PA VS?

Love this tweak. I put Syntec Team on my PS and my dad's PA (both 1/4s). Little smaller and a little more feel for the bevels. I use tourna, he uses VS original.

Yes, he played with the new racquet/ mold in the ATP cup ( new Davids) and then switched back, he said that in during training he was playing very good with it. Probably the loss against Lakovic made him switch back, who knows if he will try it again or will go with the PJ, some pro players are very superstitious.

That's tough to say. I really feel like the new Aero VS kind of stands alone. You could probably say it plays like a slightly heavier pure drive vs, but they are different though. I used to play the Pure Aero VS Tour for a few years, and I would say there are some similarities, but the biggest difference being the increased weight of the tour. The VS Tour has a tighter string pattern as well. Whereas, the new Aero VS has a more open, spin-friendly string density. Definitely worth a demo. I think more people will like the new Aero VS than don't, but it ultimately comes down to personal preference and each person's individual set-up. All the best!

Yeah. He definitely switched to the new Aero VS in the off-season and during the ATP Cup. And you're right, he switched back to his older frame, which I think is a doctored up Pure Aero VS from 2017 (old Aero Storm Mold). He supposedly really liked it, but ultimately switched back to what he was most comfortable with. I don't think that reflects on the new Pure Aero VS frame, but more on the comfort level and amount of time Felix had with it. In my opinion, it definitely takes time to fully trust your frame and get really comfortable with it, especially in pressure situations. Though there are some similarities between the old Pure Aero VS (aero storm mold) and the new Pure Aero VS, there are definitely some differences too. That's why it just comes down to preference and getting a certain amount of time with it!

It seems funny to me when they are comparing this Pure Aero VS to the previous one, which for all intents and purpose was the Aero Storm. Granted, I haven’t hit with this new one, or the one it replaced (but have hit the original Aero Storm), but I imagine they are completely different racquets. No one would consider a 98 sq. in. Pure Aero as the direct successor to the Aero Storm. Completely different sticks.

The Pure Aero VS is definitely evolving, to say the least. However, as far as being more control oriented with comparable stiffness ratings, they could be looked at as similar in some of those respects, but the beam width, drill pattern, weight/balance differences, and overall improved feel make this new Pure Aero VS a brand new stick that happens to share the same name as the previous version (which had the old aero storm mold). I’d give it a demo if interested.

I wonder if Ryan Harrison, Felix Auger-Al., Marco Cecchinato, and Jack Sock will use this?

There might be players switching from regular pure aero to the new pure aero vs but I don’t see all the guys you mentioned gonna make the switch...the old PAVS is basically a aero storm mold, and the box beam design on that makes it feel totally different than the pure aero. Btw FAA did play with the new PAVS in the ATP cup earlier this year and he did not play good...switched back to his last gen PAVS right after that.

Hey teek..can you share the blue print for your balance board??
I would if I still had it. I do have the balance PDF which I can email to you. But the board itself is rather simple. Just a piece of melamine from home Depot, some 1"(?) Eyescrews and dowel. Took maybe 30 min to make

TW review is obviously inflated. Numbers almost mirror the PDVS, which was not a good feeling/ playing racquet in stock form, IMO. I thought all the review numbers on the PDVS could be dropped by at least 3 pts.

PAVS is heavier than PDVS, as well as SW. and that SW could make a difference on stability. Also, one of the downside on PDVS is the launching angle feels like a 18/20 instead of 16/19, which sacrifices quite a lot spin for people used to standard PD. PAVS kept the spin grommets from standard PA which enables the racket maintain the good spin potential (obviously gonna be less than standard PA but for a 98 16/20 frame it does have good spin potential) And based on my friends in LA who’s already hitting the frame for a month, I believe it’s gonna be a great racket. And also 305g and average 321 SW makes it still able to be customized.

Very well said!

Finally weighed my new VS strung with RPM Blast 15. It weighs exactly 11.5oz. That is not too bad considering spec is 11.3oz. Now I am going to change grip to an Oehm's leather and re-weigh. Wanting it a little more HL, so hopefully the Oehm's and overgrip will do the job. After I try that, I may play around with some Tungsten or lead tape. Anyone have any suggestions?

Yeah. Set it up to Dimonc Thiem specs. 11.85 oz strung. 5 pt hl

Yeah, i was truly surprised with the reviews. I thought it was barely mhhh and still didn’t care for the frame with added weight

I will admit that in stock form compared to my Pure Strike 18x20 (2nd gen) it does feel mhhh...lol I am hoping with some custome work it will be better, but so far I am loving my PS. I also have 2 2013 AeroPro Drives on the way, so excited to see how they play.Never hit with 2013, but read a lot of positive feedback.

Thats a good buy. I looked for them myself just didn’t find some in decent shape

Any more feedback on the PaVS from those lucky enough to be able to play..?
I am actually enjoying it so far. I have only been able to hit a few outings, but very interesting racquet. In stock form I felt is was a little boring compared to other Babolats I have hit in the past. I did add an Oehms leather grip, and 3 grams at 12 o'clock and it plays like a completely different racquet. Has much more POP and plow-through. I may try and lower 12 o'clock to 2 grams, and put a little at 3 & 9 and see what it does for stability. All that being said.....very nice racquet overall.

Which string set up are you using? I was thinking to try Babolat RPM Blast Rough 16 @22kg

Right now I have them strung with Vokl Cyclone @ 52lbs I believe. I am going to string one soon with a pack of RPM Blast 15 that i have and see the differences.
I definitely believe RPM Blast Rough would be a good choice. You might wanna bump up from 22kg to maybe 23kg-24kg. Just my opinion

15? ouch

edit: I like 18 or 17 gauge

Thanks, I am currently playing with 23Kg in the Tecnifibre tflash atp 315, and being this one a smaller head size and denser pattern I do not want to sacrifice too much power, that´s why I am planning to go down a bit in tension, hope it works. Which racquet do you use? wondering why customizing , do you feel is too light in stock form? reason of getting this frame for me was to get something lighter but powerful and control, hope I choose correctly :)

I believe you will enjoy it. I always doctor my stuff up just to try different things out. I really like heavier racquets, and tend to make all my stuff pretty hefty. Right now playing with old POG Mid as my "go-to", but always looking for different stuff. I have a new Prestige MP and an Ezone 100 on the way to try out....lol
