I didn’t watch and people can hate. But this a good thing for the popularity of tennis, especially in America.

The amount of Americans I know who follow F1 just because of Netflix’s “Drive to Survive” is surprisingly a lot.

Imagine if it could have focused on the big 3, or even just one of the big 3. Would have made the series 10x better right out of the gate. But as others have said there was no way that would happen. I watched the first two episodes and it really didn't pull me in the way Drive to Survive did. Kyrgios and his ridiculous girlfriend are super cringe. Honestly, since Roger's retirement I just don't have much to look forward to in watching professional tennis anymore. I hope someday someone can come along that I can feel the same way about but I don't think it's going to be in the NexGen.

DTS only started getting big stars after the first season. If Netflix realizes they need to do the same, it could certainly evolve into a much, much better product. Don’t even need djokodal as main stars, but shine the light on Alcaraz, Rune, Sinner, those types that are poised to be slam competing rivals in the future, maybe a little djokodal mixed in when they get some coverage at the slams, an interview or two when they’re playing one of the main cast would be sufficient supplementation. Get Thiem struggling on his quest back, some realism there and if he does make it back to the top it would age tremendously. Just please not f****** Fritz and his influencer girlfriend , couldnt imagine a bigger waste of time. Same goes for the little 3, zverev, tsitsipas and Nick are all horrible candidates. Med isn’t as bad but I imagine maybe a little bland

I believe the same people who made DTS are the ones doing Break Point so I'm sure that's their plan. And as a side note they also just released a golf version but I haven't had the chance to check it out. And I agree, Fritz and his gf are worse than Nick and his. Honestly at this point I prefer the stories of the women in the series over the men. Hopefully they can get some actually interesting people for season 2.

having kyrgios be the poster player and opening up with him on EP 1 really set up the series for failure....the episodes with ons jabeur and badosa are honestly not too bad but by then your judgment was already pretty much clouded by the ****show that was the kyrgios episode

focusing primarily on 1 player per episode was not the right move, especially when most of these guys have the personalities of toilet paper.

Drive to survive was great because, sure, it was mainly about a single driver or team for an episode, but they still highlighted interactions between players and team principals in the same team and against different teams. The storyline had many layers of complexity.

Bottomline is I don't think pro tennis is suited for a similar type of reality TV to begin with.

Apparently Tommy Paul is going to be a big part of season 2. It does look like they are covering more interesting players in season 2 but I don’t hold out much hope for the series.

Has anyone been watching In Full Swing the golf version of this? If so, is it any good?

They'll get 3 viewers for that - Tommy and his parents.

He might get four viewers because Mardy Fish will also tune in :-D

In all seriousness, I would be interested to watch more about the offcourt changes he has made to make the big improvements he has made in the last year or so. Particularly any fitness training changes he has made.

I’ve lost a lot of respect for him after the Davis Cup disaster with Fish last year, but would like more context and his side of the story.

It’s better than the Golf series. My goodness I’m not a Golf aficionado but that was epically boring. It was being praised for making folks like me (non fans) really blown away by the tour(s). Sheesh
I heard the formula one series is their best. Try that out one day

Do we have any confirmed players who will feature in S2? I have seen Rune, Paul and also Sloane Stephens mentioned/in clips.
