BREAKING: Casper Ruud wins the Stefan Edberg Sportsmanship Award for 2022!

So the actual peers in the locker room - who know all these guys way better than us and spend way more time with them in day to day situations than you or I - just suddenly voted with integrity for the first time in 20 years?

Sorry mate. Respect you, but not buying it.
Lol, tennis players themselves are fan boys. That's why only Fed and Rafa won for many years until this season.

So you think Fed got all these rewards because he shows the most sportsmanship at meals and in the gym? I never heard of Federer reaching out to players. It doesn't even suit him as he seems to be a private person (which is perfectly fine). IMO, your conduct on court is what should get you nominated for it (with examples of outstanding sportsmanship) and I don't see any reason why would Federer even be nominated for it once, outside of his sponsor being the main sponsor of this award for years. And why would Nadal be nominated? Only answer is that it's a popularity contest. It's just ridiculous. Players most likely want to be on a good side of mega stars and their sponsors (which most of them share with Fedal or would want to), so they vote for the most popular player most of the time.
Sorry fellow TTW keyboard warrior. I’ll take their word over yours.

I don’t suppose you’re a big Fed fan (usually those who disparage this award aren’t)

But I heard plenty during Fed’s retirement before and after about how well he relates to the other players from the players themselves.

I think their opinion matters a bit more than TTW posters.

Congratulations to Casper and the Rafael Nadal Academy!

Good!
I'm sure Ruud and Rune have long since buried the Viking axe (and not in each other). :)

If Elon ran this award, it would be a Twitter poll
