Kyrgios is NOT reaching the US Open Final.

He has been playing weaponless defensive minded players all tournament long, something that will change when he plays Khachanov & Berrettini.

Kyrgios loves playing Daniil because Medvedev doesn't have anything to hurt him, he just retrieves the ball without doing any damage.

It was about Nadal's opinion on whether kyrgios wins USO or not, not about who reaches final.
And to be honest, I'd like Nick's chances against Karen heavily and even against Berretini because Matteo is not playing good enough & was lucky to scrap by ADF.

I think kyrgios has a good chance of making the final, but I agree with this premise.

Kyrgios is worse defensively than offensively. Players that attack give him more trouble than players than defend when he is dialed in the way he is right now. I could Berretini especially finding a way to frustrate him with the serve and forehand combo. Medvedev simply doesn’t know how to end points quickly.

Berretini at the moment is not playing good

Just because Nick destroyed Med tonight has no bearing on how he'd play against Nadal in a slam final. Rafa is 20 times the player Med is and is one of the greatest pressure players ever. Nick's not, to put it mildly.

His last two defeats came against Fritz & Hurkatz, that is the blueprint of the guys who continuously hurt an "in form Kyrgios"

He hates playing guys that attack him.

I think Alcaraz had a good chance to win USO 2022. Rafa isn’t playing great, Alcaraz should be able to solve Sinner by now, and Kyrgios will easily be troubled by Carlos’ powerful game that can blow him off the court.

Rafa doesn't need to play great to win. The others do.

Nadal has looked vulnerable all tournament dropping balls short and not enough first serves heaps of double faults. I think the ab isn’t full healed he needs to lift alot if he is to win this he may scrape through to SF but will be punished if he doesn’t elevate his game

I think Nadal is eminently beatable too, but he has a habit of grafting wins due to his experience.

This. With his current level there is no way Nadal wins the title. Very vulnerable on serve. Every time he hits a second serve I expect a double fault. He is also being passive with his forehand.

Yes he needs to fix all of this but nadal seems to be able to work his way into tournaments and peak at just the right time.. He has often started badly and does enough to win opening rounds and then goes on to lift the trophy… The abbreviated serve is worrying though.. I hope the ab does heal eventually and he can play unhindered as it seems their is still a massive risk of re-injury…
