Bright stuff?

Im a 44yo dude that's been actively playing about 6 months. I love wearing bright colorful stuff on the court during matches. I do it because it helps keep me in a good mood, hopefully lightens others moods. Mainly because I like them though.
I've noticed that I'm the only one that does though. Seems like the vast majority of players wear rather bland stuff.

Nobody has given me a hard time over my choices, the opposite actually.
My question is it poor taste, bad etiquette for matches? Just curious

If you want to look like a highlighter, then go for it. You do you and who cares what we think.

If you look at most men's tennis clothing, you'll find a lot of basic colors: white, black and greys. Nothing wrong with it, it's just what sells. I like colorful stuff as well, but after playing for going on 50 years, I've got a variety of colors in the closet! Wear what you like, unless you play at Wimbledon or the THOF.

It isn't just clothes btw

This is a half-century long reduction of colors, sacrificing inspiration for not pissing people off. Why do you think so many home appliances are white or silver?

TL;DW: Few people "love" neutral colours but even fewer people "hate" them

I love colorful gear myself. I'm also in that age group.

I just don't wear bright colors all the time, like Nike's Volt, because doubles opponents have stated they see me moving for poaches.

Not a bad thing if You like it.

What bothers me is wearing all and everything black, I see this all the time, for some reason especially among old guys and young ladies. Quite boring.

I'm also a bright color BabyBoomer guy, always have been. In fact on the occasional day I'm not wearing colors, my tennis friends ask if I'm feeling alright!!

There you go, mate!

Wear whatever you like.

Compared to the stuff from the 2024 US Open...you can't possibly miss.

Back in the 70's, I bought some discounted red, white and blue tennis clothes (including a tank top) with segmented vivid colors. I thought they looked cool and different. But I recall one of the top players on our college team commented: "We don't allow clowns on court". Ah well, I still love bright tennis clothes and he can get stuffed.

Glad to see im not the only one. Wife and I have the matching Melbourne outfit that Tiafoe had on in the picture (gotta love mixed doubles)! Black is boring imo.
My clothes definitely show I walk the walk. If that means I love having fun that is. C5 ALTA gets taken far too seriously by a lot of people. Sorry Karen and Kyle but we're never gonna make it to Wimbledon. I buy most of my shirts from aliexpress. They feel and look great, best part is they run about $6us.
