Interesting to Note Novak was 3rd in the fan favourite list - so clearly he does have a massive fan base (just not quite on the same scale, that's all) :)

He's actually gone up on last year. Dimitrov finished third last year but has completely fallen off.

What a farce. Still I suppose you have to give it to Federer fans, they are very proactive. At the start of voting they sprang into action.

Don't see the point in Federer getting the sportsmanship award every year, we get the picture. Time for someone else to be recognized. But unless the players collectively got together to vote that won't happen. When they look at their list individually, they see Federer as the best sportsman due to being a great guy, a perceived clean athlete by his peers, a fair sportsman and all in spite of his success. Kevin Anderson would have been a worthy winner but I am just talking from my sofa and don't know anything about his real character.

Would be interesting to see the breakdown in the fan favourite.

Fed got 65% so that leaves 35% for the rest. What sort of numbers would Nadal get I wonder, is it like 25% for Nadal so Fedal get 90% and everyone else on tour combined 10%.

65% is ridiculous when you consider the Bryan's won the doubles with 35%, probably a very comfortable total.

Not that these online polls mean anything, everyone knows Federer is by far the most popular player. At least anyone without their head in the sand.

Who else is going to have fans, Berdych? :D

and you don't think the ************* and Nolefam do the same. The ************* is full of these nutters.

The impact of such has probably little bearing on the final result. Are you trying to dispute Federer is the most popular tennis player?

Yes, what a farce! A fan vote being won by the player with the most pro-active fans! It's an outrage! And Novak winning the Number one award just because he's the number one player! Scandalous!

Wouldn't have minded seeing Kevin Anderson or Tim Smyczek win but I guess it's always gonna go to a high profile player.

Because none of the other players think twice - they all admire and respect the top players. I think it's more to do with conduct on court and in the locker room as well.

Bullcrap Chung won most improved player. Just a consolation for not being the rising star due to age. He only played 2 slams and 2 masters. Hell, most of his wins were from the challenger tour. Sure he rose up the rankings (thanks challenger tour) but he didn't score any top 10 wins, didn't reach quarterfinals at masters or slams. Didn't go post 2nd round at a slam. No tour titles for the year.
Should have been Tomic or Thiem. **** weak by the ATP players :confused:

LOL, Feddypants exposed again. It's time to declare Rafa as moral winner of fans favorite and sportsmanship award.

I bet most voters are in Europe and the United States. If Chinese vote, Djokovic will be no. 2.

I just looked up the history of the Star of Tomorrow award.

Started in 1990, only 6 winners have gone on to win a slam and none since Nadal won it in 2003. Rafa is the only one of those six to win more than 2 slams.

Wouldn't mind awarding Federer the ATP star of tomorrow and come back player too. He has come back from places and still has a bright future, maybe brighter than Zverev's. Age discrimination should not be tolerated.

I don't like Roger very much to be honest but you can't deny his tremendous sportsmanship, he conducts himself with class on and off the court, a great example for kids. Unlike our current #1.

Probably because since 2006 we've only had 7 different slam champions (Stan, Fed, Djoko, Nadal, Delpo, Cilic, Murray).
If you take 2014/2015 out of the equation (so 2006-2013) it's just 5 different slam champs. Not that surprising that these rising stars haven't won anything
