I think I saw somewhere he had it professionally customized so it probably isn’t pain over the retail paint job but repainted.
Initially, the story was that before the Phoenix Challenger in March, he went to a Phoenix/Scottsdale tennis shop and purchased all of their PA 98’s and then got some spray paint and did them himself.

Looking at random images it does appear to be the case. I couldn't really see yesterday with his match with Tommy Paul.
On a separate note... HEY camera people at tennis tournaments,
I don't care to see only players' faces nor their feet, waist, shoulder, to head up view, but show me the athlete as a whole or at least show me their frames and their hands. That's what I want to see. Furthermore, I don't really care to see their coaching staff nor significant others except occasionally. For me as a spectator I would rather see random shots of location, structure, and of random fans, and of course match play points. Also I find the ground view camera vantage the best because that's about the view that players actually see when playing.
