Butt cap + heat shrink sleeve question.

I have 2 of the same frames, one with a 4 1/2 grip and the other 4 3/8 with a full size heat shrink sleeve. When I measure both grips they are exactly 4 1/2, however, the butt cap on the 4 1/2 (without the heat shrink sleeve) is bigger. Is this because a 4 3/8 butt cap, plus a full size shrink sleeve, will be smaller than a 4 1/2 butt cap?

Easy fix, order a #4 butt cap, remove #3 butt cap, install the heat tube on the bare grip with no butt cap, and install the #3 butt cap over the heat shrink tube. Then there's no worrying about what causes the difference.

Was the heat-shrink sleeve installed on the butt cap along with the pallet?

You could also just wrap some tape on the butt cap to make it a little bigger as ordering a butt cap can be a challenging process (I'd have to order them from TWE).
