Buying a used stringing machine

Hi All
I'm thinking about buying my first stringing machine. I've seen this one advertised for around $700USD and its around 3 years old. The price brand new is $1500USD.

What do you guys think? Has anyone had bad experiences with these types of machines?
Also, any ideas as to what to look out for when buying a second hand machine? I've never strung a racquet before so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

If you have never strung before, it will be hard for you to validate all the parts are there. I guess you could ask the person to demo stringing a racquet so you can make sure the stringer works. Ask what all tools he will be including in the sale.

I would ask him/her to string a racket for you to demonstrate....if you have strung before then you can demo it and "feel" if there is anything wrong. I personally would spend the $700.00 on a new Alpha(or comparable machine) in that price range, having gotten semi-burned on an electronic stringer trade....
