Yeah, that is a reference to the song by dj dave and laeCharles

Congrats to Cal bear women on winning the Pac-12 title of regular season. but i have to wonder how far they would go come NCAA tournament time. They have never done too well during NCAA tournament for some reason.

So dumb, Cal will easily be in the top half of the conference each year.
Cal bears will be forced to recruit some top notch players from europe or Asia in order to compete. That's the only way. in the past they had isssues getting the top juniors to come to their program from the states

Looks like the weakest Cal team in a while on the men’s side. Lost to Santa Clara and then beaten pretty soundly by MTSU and NC State.
Overbeck appears overmatched at the 1 position. He won all of three games this weekend and is 0-3 including his loss to Lerby of Santa Clara. Wonder why Jackson didn’t play at kickoff after winning easily against Santa Clara. They would have fared better with him in the lineup. But no doubt the departures of Kikuchi and Banthia have weakened Cal and the replacements aren’t quite ready to step up immediately. Kris Kwinta has his work cut out if he doesn’t want to just be a cellar dweller in the ACC next year

"With some of Cal's more experienced Bears unavailable for the ITA Kickoff Weekend, younger Bears earned plenty of playing time, with three underclassmen playing in doubles and four underclassmen Bears playing in singles against the Wolfpack.

"The younger ones got to experience what it is to compete at this level against top-25 teams and what they have to do in training to be at this level," said Kris Kwinta, Cal's Peter Wright Director of Men's Tennis. "It's tough luck we didn't get to play all our players, but the younger ones really stepped up. Maybe they're not experienced enough to win consistently at this level, but they played with fire and definitely challenged some guys in singles and in doubles."

From the press release..

Ready to beat Stanford this time
It’s possible. Cal can and should win doubles. They’ll lose at the top singles spot as Basavareddy is unbeatable. But Overbeck can repeat his win over Banjeree who has been losing a lot. Chang v Basing would be a toss up. Kang v Stepanov should favor Kang. 5&6 could go either way. So Cal needs to win two of three singles matches at 3, 5 and 6.

These Classless Cal fan boys almost cost the Card pac 12 title... Nico the God showed why he's God.

Pac12 committee is meeting as we speak to decide on Cal bears being kept away with Doors locked from attending anymore Cal bears home tennis matches...

Agree. I heard Basavareddy and Banerjee were racially heckled by the Cal fans. That abominable behavior has no place in college tennis let alone a high standing academic institution like UC Berkeley. Cheering for one’s team is certainly acceptable but personal attacks are over the line. It serves them right that they lost 4-1.

BS. There are plenty of Indian students at Berkeley. The crowd was good and rowdy. No need to make accusations, especially after a win.

Lol. Were there only Indian students in the crowd? I heard this from someone who attended the match. And the Coach had to intervene. You can be a naysayer if you wish.

LOL,,, their behavior had Nothing to do with wether Berkeley has indian students or not................you are just changing the subject. those fanboy there were there, likely Cal bear frat boys were rude, completely out of line and showed racist behavior. Those are the FACTS. so in 2024-2025 season, Cal bears will play tennis Without any fans attending.......:(
