Calibrating ektelon model DE

Hi everyone!

I recently got to borrow a stringing machine from a friend, an Ektelon model DE. Previously I've been using a Prince Neos 1000 or Ektelon model H (same thing). The problem is that it pulls 5 lbs wrong. Since I know about this, its no huge deal. I can basically just bump it up 5 lbs to make it right but I wonder how you actually calibrate it? It doesn't work the same way as with the Neos or H which had a small hole for an allen key close to the pin that pops out.

Is it not possible to actually calibrate this model?!

I can probably upload pictures if that makes it easier.

It should be the same as the NEOS as the tension head is roughly the same. There's got to be a YouTube video out there. If it's exactly 5 lbs, why not just go with it and adjust accordingly?

I think the latter model H was the first to utilize the allen wrench device for smaller adjustments. It has been awhile but I think with the DE you have to loosen the cap screw on the side of the catch (i.e., the part that releases the locking lever when you reach the right tension) and make your adjustments there (i.e., you simply adjust the catch up or down to release the locking lever at the right point--it will be a bit of trial and error but it's easily done--about a 1/16" adjustment up or down is about 5 lbs). I recommend cleaning the whole machine in detail at this juncture too--that is, adjust your machine when it is at its cleanest. Good luck.

Thanks! It wasnt as easy as on the neos but it worked! I forgot to clean though... :(

It's an older model without the Allen key. I solved it anyway ;)
It was a bit annoying going between machines when one wasn't calibrated. Easy to forget that you have to pull tighter.
