Camila Giorgi and Israel

Allegedly Israel offered Giorgi $100,000 to move to Israel in exchange for 30% of her winning for a couple of years.

What kind of a lousy deal was this? She's going to make a lot more than $100,000 in the next couple of years.

If it was a million and 30%... perhaps. I think she made much more than 100k with her current showing at the open

She did already make 190k this year although more than half of that is just from reaching the third round at Wimbledon

wow that is awful glad she rejected it. what would they have even offered in exchange, exactly? $100k up front, which she would pay them back in the next few years plus interest. that's just insane.

I remember reading that she was considering it because she wanted to play fed cup and at the time there was no chance that she would ever be picked. Maybe now she will take schiavone's spot on the team? Seems like Italy will continue to do well they have such a powerhouse fed cup team. Sara, Roberta, Flavia, and now Camila! And they even have Frannie and Knapp to chose from.

Cheater alert:

Giorgi, who received a code violation for illegal coaching from her animated father, Sergio, said it was a dream come true to simply play inside Arthur Ashe Stadium.

That just makes too much sense! :) I got confused because I could have sworn I saw the flag of Israel on her WTA page, but it turns out I was thinking Glushko who I looked up that same day.
I believe that Glushko is not originally from Israel... anyone know her story? Was she offered money from Israel or did she move there at a young age for non-tennis reasons?

There are religions we don't choose, apparently, but maybe only wierdos know anything about religion these days.

What kind of weirdo looks up information of a 100+ ranked WTA player's parent's religious status?
