Can a customized Prestige S play like a Prestige Pro?

If I compare basic specs between Head Prestige S and Pro models, they are quite similar except for the obvious weight:

Prestige S
Head Size: 98 sq. in.
Length: 27in
Strung Weight: 323.18g
Balance: 3 pts HL
Swingweight: 315
Stiffness: 63
Beam Width: 22mm
String Pattern: 16 Mains / 19 Crosses

Prestige Pro
Head Size: 98 sq. in.
Length: 27in
Strung Weight: 345.86g
Balance: 6 pts HL
Swingweight: 321
Stiffness: 66
Beam Width: 21mm
String Pattern: 16 Mains / 19 Crosses

Would it just be a question of adding weight in appropriate places to have the S play like a Pro?
Other than one being slightly stiffer than the other, in the end is it just a matter of weight distribution that separates the two?

... hold on, let me get this straight. I need to wrap my head around this.

You want a Prestige S to play like the Prestige Pro, why don't you just buy the Prestige Pro to begin with?

Because I already have one?

Because I 've purchased over 10 raquets so far and I'm trying to make things work.

i wont rely on the stiffness rating. just demo both of them and see how it goes.

Yes I wish I could but none of the stores that sell them offer them to demo.
Their excuse is that they don't need to because people who play with them by the man don't need to demo.
Silly answer if you ask me.

By weighting them correctly, you would get close to the same overall weight and the same balance, but....
Feel would be different, as bigger beam would feel different than thinner beam on an un weighted racket.
By weighting the thinner beam, you might lose some stiffness, so the feel would pull farther apart.

The Prestige S is not just a "nerfed" Prestige Pro. It's a completely different racquet, not even in the same "lineage" as the Prestige line. It's basically a fake Prestige. It's not even the same Prestige mold.

Bottom line: if you want a Prestige, buy a real Prestige. No sense in buying something that is nerfed only to attempt to mod it to the real thing, especially since the prices aren't horribly different. Plenty of real, true Prestiges for sale in the "Sales Corner", as well as plenty for sale at TW's "Used" section.

Maybe OP tried a real Prestige, and would wonder if his S can play somewhat similar given the correct amount of weight thru leading.

No, I haven't tried a Pro, but reading what Anubis said of the S model being from a different mold, I'll go out tomorrow and buy one, since I can't demo.
I have to say the S model does feel tinny, certainly sounds tinny.

If you can afford it, by all means, buy a new racket, but....
WHY?
What are you looking for? More SW? Maybe an oz and a half more overall weight?
Do you like the colors?
Is it the Prestige name?
What don't you dislike about the S, other than a "tinny" feel?
Can you hit well with your racket?
What are you looking for?

I played with the Head Graphite Pro back in the late 80s and always loved that racquet. I'm looking for something similar, but stiffer as it was a slightly flexible model. I thought the Prestige S would fit the bill since I haven't played in quite a few years, but after 3 months the popeye forearm is back and I'm nearly throwing my arm out of my socket with the S.
I do like the concept of the Prestige S, I thought some weight would equal things out.

If you just add 8" of 1/4" lead tape, about 2 dollars at 10-2, and 24" of the same lead tape in the handle, under your grip, you'd get a similar feel to the Prestige Pro in specifications of weight, balance, and SW.
That would take about 4 bucks total.
The material...filling and the layup of the frames are different, so you can never get the same PrestigePro feel.

If you liked the Graphite Pro then get the IG Prestige Mid. It's Much closer to the Graphite Pro than the IG Prestige Pro.

Hi, yes I looked into the mid. I just felt that at 93 square inch head it was going to be a bit too tedious seeing as that I will be playing mostly doubles. But you're right, it really looks like a scalpel.

Thought I'd give a quick update on the Head IGYPP... used it today in a tournament; it is one heck of a stick. Does everything great, and tennis elbow wasn't an issue at all. Kick serves were especially great, actually awesome.
Going to play more doubles tomorrow morning, looking forward to more happy times.
